Your Challenger won't drive? You're probably in the passenger seat.
Can't sell/delete an item? Check all of your loadouts, it's likely still equipped.
Auction house? Why? It'll just render bits purchased lock boxes pointless, and weapons are mostly equal anyway.
Gear/enemy progression? No thanks, it'll only render 90% of the content trivial when you reach the highest zone.
Based on your admitted play style, spending time doing events instead of advancing the main story ends up maxing out everything more so than doing the story or side missions. Whether or not this was your intention or not doesn't really matter, you're still power gaming the system by doing the more rewarding content first (events and arkfalls) for more XP and then slowly doing the minimally rewarding other content. I have a friend who just started the game and he's doing exactly what you're doing only on purpose because it's the power gamer way to play the game.
That it wans't your intention is that whole "irony" bit. You're rushing the game while trying to not rush the game haha...

Boom. I thought the game was bad personally. Terrible design decisions.

guess it depends on your definition of "end" as you suggest. to me, the end means no more content that isn't dynamically generated. The game will end for me when I know there are no new storyline missions being created, though I will still be playing until i get bored of it, so really, I guess the game ends when each players wants it to, or when then servers shut down :P

there were quite a few at the time. and they were bigger than eve was at the time as well.I havent played it in many years, not sure where that chip you're talking about is. What games are you comparing it against to make it 'below average'? I'm struggling to think of an MMO that is as sandbox as EvE with as much critical acclaim.
eve sells itself on it's artificial learnign cruve which is inuced by the obtuse control schemes at other errata.
it has critical acclaim in recent years, as it should, for not bucking to the lure of wow cloning your sandbox that doomed a number of the greatest sandboxes of the pre wow era, some of which even today have several times the number of active players of eve.
eve might be a game worthy of greatness, were certain things made not so utterly obtuse adn the overall sandbox not so utterly stagnant. for all teh chest thumping of the players over it, anytime anything of actual merit happens, it causes rage for years - re: goon squad's reputation.
the fact you ran to call me out as possibly trash talkign eve even though it didn't fit into my qualified post indicates the cliche chip on the shoulder almost all eve vets have when sandboxes come up.
also ignoring the fact that i was lamneting the fact that as an mmo gamer one has the choice between theme park after theme park OR poorly designed poor quality sandbox games with terrible combat and controls that stick to their conventions (including hte bad combat and controls) as rigidly as the wow clones do.
certainly eve has come a long way since the early days when the boxes being boxes were obvious and the tutorial took something like 3 or 4 hours complete, but for people that like to feel like their toon is an extension of themselves in terms of combat, vs having a layer of context menus and spreadsheets between them and the action, it's a bit rough, and games like perpetuum that have tried to bridge that gap have been utterly lacking in other regards.
ofc though, when i say recent years i mean games like darkfall or perpetuum or mortal online, not eve, though obviously eve has terrible controls too.
