He definatly should not be nerfed further, I beat him on the first try, but was challenged, if he was any easier he would been a disapointment.

    few basic tips:

Thick skinned (why would anyone not always run with this , I do not know)
Decoy (easily the best ego power when dealing with npcs)
    Saw
    Roll!
Respark, If you are not running a respark when you are solo and without cloak, then shame on you

Actually this is false. If you die and cannot revive yourself you will start from the last cutscene (phase) of the boss. I don't know what the issue is for this person however since if you don't extract or self revive the game will automatically extract you when the timer runs down.

As for killing him its the same as doing nearly anything else in a video game. Figure out the pattern, memorize it, and act accordingly. Phase 1 dodge his charge and shoot when he is not blue (shielded). I think after 3-4 charges he is stunned briefly. Phase 2 again dodge his fireball things and shoot when he is not blue. Phase 3 stand on the opposite side of the screen from where he spawns and shoot anything that looks like him and eventually you will hit him. Rinse and repeat until he is dead.

this fight is about survival and avoiding mechanics. not just shooting him

in the following video i recorded when i first ran into him. i had no idea what to expect and you see me adjust tactics on the fly.

Exactly. So something might not be working as it should. I doubt that though.

The fight itself is not easy and I don't like how Nim attacks you right after extraction again. I would allow a minute or two of respite to try different perks and weapon loadouts. Chances are that most players reaching him are ill prepared for the fight. I know I was and then spent 3 hours in vain to kill him. Some readjustments and dodge training later he went down fine.

You need to bunny hop like no-ones business. Use an explosive shotty and spam the heck out of Nim with it. Take advantage of the pillars. Hide behind them to avoid some of his attacks. Run in circular patterns backwards while blowing Nim up with the shotty. When your shields go down use cloak to recover and reload. Its hard but it gets the job done.

I think dodging is the issue with him as people probably don't know you can use it. Dodge in this game literally will avoid ALL damage if done at the right time. For those that don't know press ALT key on PC or double tap crouch for Xbox or PS3 while moving in a direction to dodge. Timing is absolutely essential on the Nim fight but you can avoid taking damage making the fight very easy. Also as someone mentioned use a respark shield with a low recharge timer. Sure your Rhino shield or some other shield might have 50% more health but with a 9 second recharge you have to run around way too much waiting for it to come back when a respark is back to full in 5.5 seconds of not taking damage.

I agree, being an old school NES player I think you should have to do the entire fight without death but we have to hold peoples hands today in video games. Thanks game I will not mention the name of but everyone knows what I am talking about...

BMG indeed. Though my setup was BMG, fire SMG, pyro nade. It was a challenge, but afterwards, pretty easy once u have that setup.
