Defiance: Season Pass - Official

We have unveiled the first details around our Defiance Season Pass. Players who want to save cash on the first 5 DLC packs rolling out after launch can now pre-purchase the Defiance Season Pass for $39.99USD. Gamers will get a massive amount of content including a new playable alien species, new weapons and vehicles, missions, and rewards, plus two bonus items, an exclusive digital Hellbug combat cap and a Lock Box.



The Defiance Season Pass can be purchased for $39.99 (PlayStation®Network) / 3200 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE) / $39.99 (PC). Once purchased, the content packs will be automatically available as they go live.

Can we transfer our characters into the new alien race?

It would be nice for us that plan to invest a ton of time to not have to start all over with a new race.

1, how soon will DLC be likly to be rolled out after launch?

2, what actually do you consider is a "season" roughly? ie 3 months or 1 years worth?

3, will this offer still be open if we wish to buy it after launch when DLC starts getting announced?

2) Is this the season pass that was with pre orders a while back?

I'm a bit confused after watching the 1 hour + sit in with IGN the dev says they'll be a one time charge $60 and they'll be able to play. He mentions some in game purchases for xp boots and such. My question is will players be forced to purchase these in order to compete?

they have already answered this one to a degree. yes the game is a one time charge and you get a fully fledged game. then after they want all players (paying or not) to continue on with dlc. but the ones who pay will get more missions/guns/cars etc etc.

so no you wont be forced at all, but if you want the cool new stuff then its a must buy

No. The DLC is completely optional. You can play the game in its entirety, to its completion, without purchasing any additional content. The DLC is just there to extend the core gaming experience.

1.) We will have a constant roll out of paid and free DLC for Defiance. The dates are all unknown as they have to go through the submission and approval processes.

2.) Longer than 3 months... shorter than 12 months.

3.) The Season Pass will be available along side all the DLC launch content. So if you buy it now or down the road it will be available to purchase. You will still have the option to buy individual DLC if you want to go that route, but understand the cost of each individual DLC will be greater than the bundle offer of all 5.
