What is the point of 2050? Why not just upgrade Defiance

as i said i thought it had more to do with the rights to the game and the fact that sifi would not let them touch many things in the game they are pulling away from that so that they own the game and it does not need the ok from a cancelled series it looks cleaner but have not made it to end game yet so will be nice if alot of the bugs are fixed like driving around do not know how i feel about them yanking the chip set but will find out and the bigger focus on moding your gun to you seems like the rite step i just hope they do not try to fix it so well it breaks

The change from EGO to Class system means less overall customization options for players by utilizing a severely dumbed down or as the devs like to call it... a "streamlined" system. You know who did that too and failed horribly? Bungie with Destiny 2. Killing your game's version 2 before even reaching retail is a really, REALLY bad idea.

There's no other way to say this so I'll be blunt. As smart as many of you think you are you have no clue or common sense. While I understand vets and PC players might not want to play because they'll be losing all of their stuff. Trion just like many of us know support for PS3 and possibly Xbox 360 days are numbered. So Trion is making the move to next gen to attract new players and see if they can get last gen console ppl back that have already left the game. D13 is broken, heavily flawed, and has been exploited many times. It was rushed to be out with the release of the tv show and there was problems that still haven't been addressed. Also right from the start the ability to run well on console was in question because of their limitations. Sure maybe they'll just keep the game on PC, but they won't fix the problems because they never could and the game is just in maintenance mode. At the end of the day they're in this business to make money and they know D13 isn't the answer. Many of you have wanted changes, but when they make them your upset by it, never understood this. Trion is trying to move on, and if you don't like the new game than don't play it. I'm sure Trion will strip the game down and than add on the stuff D13 already and label it as new content. We all know how Trion works. I for one know if it don't run smoothly on my PS4 I'll wash my hands of Defiance once again.

Well to be honest, they have kept their word on this issue. Both games are up and running simultaneously. The question is... for how long, I never heard a statement from Trion about this. Though both Rift and Rift Prime are still playable.
