plot "hole" already evident in Defiance? SPOILER!!!!!

in game they said that a working terra spire had not been seen in over 10 years. However when one was finally found in the 14 minute preview the 2 leads didn't seem overly shocked and/or surprised. since a working terra spire could be used to reverse the effects of the terraforming holocaust they should have shown a LOT more excitement. in game it was a major event just piecing one together from bits from all over.

Maybe it's because anonymous ninjas seeped away their excitement while they were sleeping.

Could have to do with things such as VonBach, or location or any litany of other things. Maybe the location it was at it just couldn't/wouldn't have any effect. Or the ability to reverse it was unknown at that time. Or honestly, maybe they just couldn't give a **** and only wanted money, talking of Antarctica and stuff.

Nolan's no stranger to terra-spires, and the episode missions in the game suggest he's got his own plan going on.

    Maybe its because:

Oh wait, don't care. This game has no depth at all in the items or character progression, therefore my care meter is about zero. My only hope is that I forget about this game and watch the TV show praying it is good.

I would consider a plot hole to be more of a logic problem. Those *******s in the show might just not be excited. Or poorly voice acted. This is SyFy etc.

A Spire requires multiple components to operate(keys if you will). You can speculate that the core or matrix are keys in addition to the crystal we helped get in the episode missions and that sphere he gets in the first 14 min of the show. Thus a teraspire crash landing in perfect condition may not necessarily mean anything can be turned immediately operable.

Additionally, Nolan was in unfamiliar territory and knew the arkfall would attract scavengers/hunters etc. In such a situation, given that though Nolan knew a teraspire could be switched on, he may have simply opted for taking the easiest/most important parts to sell as opposed to attempting to defend with just Irisa the entire spire. He also may have been one of the Defiant Few that actually didnt know how to fully operate/turn it on let alone reverse the teraforming damage.

Something that I learned well from Bethesda is any creator of lore reserves the right to change their mind, without notice or explanation.

yeah they seemed to be too casual about such a discovery. they seemed to treat the terra spire the same way you or I might react to finding $20 on the sidewalk.
