Totally agree. Nothing worse than a "final" boss who is like fighting Glass Joe from Punch Out. I think I just dated myself there. Anyway, I enjoyed beating him up too. Took me about half an hour to get him done. Patience is the key.

I like harder battles because you need tactics
Took me over half hour as well
    What weapon did you use?

It was a bit odd though, some of his attacks were impossible to dodge even with cover. Working out a strategy is fine, but the fight was more like run around to get your health back up from the attack you couldn't dodge from and attack him.

I used my burst AR w/ elec damage which gets me about 400 per shot for the first round. The second and third round I used my lob grenade launcher with overcharge active. Whenever I got a clear shot I just lit him up then moved to cover. It was especially useful in the second round when he clones all those decoys. I lit that room up like Christmas.

I used a fire SMG for every round because of high fire rate and used cloak when I needed health

It was a totally different fight compared to any other in the game which was pretty nice. Took me like 4 tries to beat him. I used a rocket launcher for phase 1 and then also started using a shotgun for phases 2 & 3.

How about putting [spoiler] in front of the title from now on, huh?

It was a cool battle, but still felt like it lacked.... something.
I had decoy with a AR and ground pounder detonator equipped. Was one of the harder parts of the (main) game.

I guess I will be the voice of dissent here, but I think the battle is about as dumb as a bucket of shrimp.

I got into the game because the game has a neat story, the scenery was neat, the weapons and armor were cool. Neat vehicles too. The battles were challenging and I had to duck and cover for the ones around San Fran. It was neat to not be able to bulldoze through the game. But I get to the end and I am sorry but the battle is stupid. I don't have lightning fast reaction times, so smokey zipping around and firing everything around the room like he is some character from Street Fighter just doesn't work. My fingers don't flit around the keyboard like I am a professional Korean Starcraft player so I miss out on the dodges at key moments and boom dead. The fact that the guy is apparently a zombie that keeps rising from the grave doesn't help either. Typically when the health bar reads 0, means you dead. I mean if my health reads 0, why am I not getting up another 15 times like zombie boy here? I have an Ego as well. So I guess that means I should keep coming back able to use more and more core ego skills and with more and more health.

Like I said, there is challenging, and then there is stupid. The LT in the mission before was challenging, the guy with the shield you had to drop by sending the flaming dude to blow up under him was challenging. But one try I literally lasted 10 seconds. It was funny trying to get away and he runs through me, blows me up, and then runs through me again. I didn't even get to his second life, or even his 3rd. I mean if I was having problems with him destroying me with his directed shot, his AOE stupidity would have made me fling the computer across the room. Like I said, I am just an average dude here and I can't even get past round 1, which means there is a problem.

I want to say congratulations to the guys that have done this and that will do this, but from my perspective there is no point in trying again until they tweak this so that the lay person can complete this with a challenge. As it is, because I have a family to take care of, and I have a job that I have to work long hours for, I can't devote untold hours trying to practice the reaction time to get this guy killed. Which means I will not be able to see new content that comes out story wise, and that is a disappointment.

My opinion, don't bother trying to kill him. I think if you want to run your head into a wall, just do it. Take a good running start and ram your head into a wall a few times. It will be more productive and less frustrating than this. But if you want to try to beat him, here is what you need:

-A shield with a high recharge and low delay. This is a must and you can't do anything without this. Doesn't matter if it is only 1000 shields. If you can score something crazy like a 60 or 70% with a 2 or 3 second delay, or something similar, you are golden. As it is I have actually never found anything like that on this character at all. I have found everything from 1000-1500 shields, 10% recharge, and a 2 second delay. I have never to this date found anything anywhere with a higher recharge rate, and a 10% recharge means that you wont be anywhere close to being healed by the time he hits you with his 1001 attacks.
-Decoy is apparently the golden skill. He will run after the decoy like it is solid gold and you can get a few shots in.
-A weapon with a small off the hip targeting reticle. Considering how fast Speedy Gonzales moves here, you wont realistically be able to aim. The other option is to get a ton of exploding weapons and carpet bomb the area he is in and run like hell.

It was a fun game while it lasted. Cheers all and good luck.
