Today while doing the "Raid on San Quentin" (not sure of exact name) mission, I counted 23 mobs that spawned on my location at one time. I'm not talking about me running around and setting off additional spawn points, I'm talking about the game hitting some predetermined part of the mission and mobs simply spawning on top of me or running directly at me while target locking me, no matter what I do or how I approach the situation. There's simply no amount of tactics that can overcome this overwhelming number of enemies.

This happened on more than one occasion today, with a couple of roadside hostage missions spawning 18 at a time and a roadblock giving me 13 at one time.

My question to a DEV is, do you consider this mechanic to be working as intended? If spitting out 23 (TWENTY THREE!) mobs at one time on a solo player, to be working as intended? If so, I simply need to find another game, no matter how much I want to like this one. Those numbers are not enjoyable (or challenging, as i can not win no matter what I do, I die repeatedly until I whittle the numbers down one agonizing death after another) to me, and I can't imagine they would be to many casual players, which we are sure to be flooded with come the 15th and more people see the show and realize there's a game associated with it.
i ran into a hulker group fighting a hellbug group and less than a grenade throw away was a large group of 99ers fighting a hellbug nest (i died horribly just passing thru in a challenger) - its not cool to have that many enemies so close together

the enemies are too strong, too accurate, and too numerous. why is it that it usually takes 2 or more clips (based on a 35 round assault rifle clip) to kill even the most basic enemies but they can kill us like its nothing and why do enemies get such amazing accuracy and our guns get crap (even sniper rifles dont hit within the dot sometimes). i understand the games about team work but damn 3 enemies shouldnt be so hard

and id say im a good player i can come into arkfalls at the boss level and still place in the top 3

The Game difficulty is scaled to Level, its also built to be a squad based game at certain points. So it makes sense that the difficulty would begin to increasing. Trust me, i have faced way more than 23 at one given time. For me, its more fun than anything.
I don't always fight for whats right... i fight to be whats left.

And that's fine, for YOU. However I, and apparently at least some others, tend to disagree. I've played many games where you had the option of a difficulty slider, or an "easy (casual) normal, or extreme" difficulty setting. No one wants to make the game any less fun for you players that aren't having any trouble with the mob size. But that number of enemies is simply not enjoyable, in an otherwise fun and exciting game, for me.

I don't even have a problem with them having perfect accuracy or the amount of rounds it takes me to kill them. If either, or even both, of those things were the only problem and I was having to deal with a maximum of 6 mobs at a time, that would be fine. But an AVERAGE of a dozen mobs at a time coupled with the fact that they never miss, and have a bagillion hit points just stresses me out and makes me want to quit playing. I have faith that they will take care of this, but I'd really like an official word on whether this is working as intended. If it is, I can quit posting and either learn to live with it or move on.

you dont have a problem with SMGs (a short range weapon) having near perfect accuracy at sniper ranges?

Of course I do, but I meant that it is something I can learn to live with because I can adjust my play style to work around it. You can "almost" always hear them coming and react to them. But having SO many mobs swarm me at one time just doesn't give me time to react in any sort of meaningful way.

I just ran two separate missions where there was another player on the same leg I was. We weren't grouped, just 2 solo players in the same area completing the same parts of a mission. There were literally LESS than half the amount of mobs I typically see when I'm in an area by myself. I just can not believe this is working the way they want it to. Otherwise, I'm left to believe that they're punishing people for soloing. And that makes no sense to me. Yes I realize this is an mmo, nothing about that should force me into grouping up and adopting someone else's play style just to survive the game.

For sure the mob numbers are a bit out hand (especially san fran and side missions), but if you can get used to it then its not so bad. I think its just like anything else, you just have to get used to it and it you will start leaning how to deal with said mobs. lol but if they scaled down then I would not be unhappy.

do you belong to a clan, if so, is it big enough for you to yell for help, if not join my clan cause when we are stuck like that we yell for help and we get it, either by way of another player or two or three or people telling us how to win, or talk us thru the fight.

I am not down playing you problem don't get me wrong, just giving you a possible solution. Many players that have come to our clan have felt that way but after a few missions have felt better because of how we help out.

I don't belong to a clan and appreciate your offer, I do enjoy being social in games. My main problem with playing in groups is most people just want to rush through and kill everything, hurry up and get the objective and move on to the next one. That's just not a play style I enjoy....sure it's fun shooting stuff in arkfalls, but I enjoy getting the most out of the storyline that I can, and exploring locations to see what's been hidden for us to find.

The other issue that I have with rushing through missions like that is, it doesn't help me get any better at the game. Yes it completes my missions for me, but that's not always the main objective for me, if that makes sense. I'd really like to just find out if this is how they wanted the game to work, because if so, its just not for me. I can't see putting multiple hours into a game that wants to punish people for playing solo. And that's what it seems like is happening when I'm faced with over double the amount of mobs when solo, as when I'm in the same area with one or two other people. Seems backwards and non intuitive to me the way it is now.

I really hope this is just something that's gotten overlooked in the rush of trying to fix all the other bugs that've popped up since release. A few people have mentioned that it wasnt nearly this bad in the betas but unfortunately, I didn't get my invite from preordering so I have nothing to compare it to. I really do enjoy this game when I happen upon one of the few missions that have a reasonable amount of mobs spawn for a solo player. It seems balanced to me, challenging but not overwhelming and futile, like it does now.
