Question for anyone who has paid for a copy via Steam.
Is the preorder/bonus items tied to a e-mail at check out or is it upon activation of the game?
I'm a UE (feeling a bit shorted by Gamestop only now) owner and I'm seeking these benefits. I'd like to know if I can trade for a gifted copy via Steam and get the preorder codes.

Already got the game off of GMG for a $15 discount, and there's no going back on that. :P
Good to see the game is on steam though. I was going to get it on steam, but GMG's discount was hard to pass. :P
Some of these questions might be best if asked directly to Steam Support. It's simply difficult to know some of these things, especially yours fido. For Vin's question, someone who has gifted a copy of a different game with preorder rewards may be able to answer it. I however am not that person, but hopefully someone will be able to answer you with what I have said in mind.
This is exactly why I would have waited until the Steam pre-order. That said, saving about $15 on the client via GMG was still a better deal, so *shrug*. What will suck is if it ends up getting Steam achievements )=
Unfortunately, I ordered on Amazon, and they have a no-return policy since they already sent me the keys. I'm stuck with what I have. Another issue is that I haven't received the download client from Amazon yet, so technically they haven't given me everything I have paid for yet.
Either way, the only thing I see as a bonus is Storm Legion and the Vehicle from the Steam Pre-Order. Everyone can unlock that vehicle later according to the description. Players will just have to wait a few months. Not big enough a deal for me to have to switch. I would like Trion to consider upgrading my Rift account to the Storm Legion, though, that would be nice. Except my Collector's Edition RIFT Account is on a different Trion account. Wonder if I can merge the two.
Since I bought collector's edition their and deluxe edition here, Trion should know I'm a good paying customer so maybe they will help me out :P But I will be nice and keep quiet; I know they work pretty hard at everything they do.
in steam you dont get the codes for games via e-mail, they are either linked integraly with the game client or are part of the game info once its in your library. what you get emailed are purchase notifications.
so if you buy a gift version of a game the person you give it too will get all the codes. and since steam will probably have its own set of codes to track its distribution of its own mass reward tiers, youll have to make a trion account and link your steam client with it, like all the mmo style games ive bought on steam.
