Trading is a huge part of defiance. The community thrives on buying/selling. Look at defiance 360 for instance. Most of us wouldn't be here without collecting certain types of weapons and advancing into the danger zone with more powerful weapons they couldn't pull themselves. The weapon/shield pool is so large that getting the items you want as a reward is next to impossible making trading viable more than ever.
With so many possibilities to obtain different weapons, the chances of obtaining certain weapons that others will already have will be like finding a needle in a hay stack. They will either be sold to the vendor or auto-broken down when people could actually use them.
We need trading in defiance 2050.
I played beta Saturday and Sunday. I pulled a total of 6 ojs and not one of which I enjoyed. I pulled the following items:
auto-detonator
auto-fragger
sub-carbin burst
rhino regen ark - 100% health regen
tachyon 20% shield capacity
t5 ar power bore
I did not want any of these. The entire beta I wanted to pull and try even a green sawed off. I never pulled a single one and I typed into chat /played and verified I had put into the game over a day worth of time.
Trading is a must have as people will get fed up and stop playing the game after not getting what they want after so many tries. Imagine playing a game for a year (defiance 360) and never getting an item you have been wanting yourself as in pulling it as a reward. You see someone who has it and no longer wants it and you are able to get it from said person. It makes you feel happy does it not?
Fast forward to defiance 2050 and that same story happens however, you aren't able to get the item any other way other than getting it as a reward yourself. Imagine how it would make you feel after disappointment after disappointment. If we could only trade, this would eliminate these issues. The same no trading system even effects people who like to collect in game.
We all have collections we like to improve more and more. We keep the collections on other charcters we refer to as backpack toons as they have the inventory slots not being used. We use a trusted friend to trade items to and then transfer them to your backpack toons. Without trading, this becomes obsolete. It literally forces players to purchase inventory slots if that will be a thing in defiance 2050 as it is in defiance 360.
This measure basically means defiance 2050 turns into a pay to win game. I am meaning that without trading, inventory slots become filled up more and more to hold items people want to keep, and once they fill up, our backpack toons are no more forcing us to buy more slots. unless we sell to vendor or break them down which the community simply won't do. The devs openly stated in the image attached to this post that "There is no pay to win in Defiance..." but sadly this route = pay to win.
