Our favourite weapon?

What's your favourite weapon that you use most of the time?

Yeah I know Trion hate us and don't want us to use our favourite weapons cause we don't level any further, but do you guys use them anyway even if they are fully upgraded or do you keep leveling with a similar weapon?

I've got two "favorite" weapons. One is my trusty AR that is fully-modded and the other is my EGO Rating 84 VOT Bolter that is fully modded. Both are purple in rarity, even though that makes about zero difference in how they perform, but I've gotten used to the handling and the sights on both and since there's no real difference in overall damage output and performance, why change?

Why change? Because a weapon that has max xp doesn't provide you any weapon skill xp. You are missing out on those bonuses.

I have finally found the gun type that suits my play style. FRC berzerker shotgun, I normally use one to level my skill but if I get a bit stuck I equip my upgraded one and smile as enemies cower in fear ( slight exaggeration ) but they die damn fast with it equipped

I have three favorite weapon types. In order:

1st: My absolute favorite is the mass cannon. Ironically, I almost threw it away after testing it a few times the first time. I fired at an enemy, but it didn't get hurt. So i kept shooting at enemies, and never did any damage at all. Then I fired a rocket and clicked R by accident... and there ya go. New favorite.

2nd: Sniper rifle. Maybe it's just me, but I think it's disturbingly easy to get headshots in this game. I'm not really a fan of shooters, but in this game, i can easily zoom in and get a headshot on a moving enemy, even when I'm running too. Sniper rifles are also very useful close up without zooming, and they reload quickly. What's not to like?

3rd: Light machineguns. These babies are so powerful they knock a raider's shield out of his hands, letting us mow through their ranks like a knife through Raider-shaped butter. Awww... those lovely screams of pain and terror.... *grins*

What is the max gun level currently? I've been using AR/Sniper rifle since the beginning, though in pvp I use AR/Shotgun since sniping in pvp is pretty useless with the current state of the game.

I've also used SMG's from time to time in the earlier stages of my gaming experience. I've tried LMG's, however I didn't like the 1 to 2 hits per 10 shot. I don't like infectors, I don't care for rocket/grenade launchers, so I just don't use those, and I've tried the rapid fire snipers and didn't care for those either.

Most folks I talk to, and myself as well, find that sniping in pvp is ridiculously easy.

i do have a favorite weapon
legendary tachmag pulser with 2 times base fire rate stat + base extended mag.. 4 slot open, 0 weapon xp..
i haven't killed a single target with it..
i will mod it with correct synergy mods once Trion fix synergy mod cache than i will be able to use this insane dps weapon..

Today I discovered my love double-tap weapons.

I bought a pump-action shotty earlier in one of the supply stores, only to discover it fires two shots in rapid succession - pretty much instantgibbing any raider I came across. It was probably the fastest weapon I ever maxed out, but I scrapped it afterwards and can't remember it's name

Later, I found a VBI SS2 Ranger double-tap sniper rifle. Until then I only used bolt action sniper rifles, but I kind of fell in love with this one. The second shot goes a bit higher than the first due to recoil, but if you move your mouse down just right, you'll land double headshots which do pretty much the same damage as a single headshot from a bolt action. But unlike bolt actions, this rifle stays scoped after firing, which I vastly prefer


Overall, I mostly use sniper rifles, assault rifles and shotguns. Sometimes I like to mess around with pistols, SMGs and LMGs, but I generally stay away from any grenade and rocket launchers as well as infectors - they're just not my playstyle. I also tend to stay away from burst ARs/SMGs/LMGs because if I want to burst I can do so manually. Finally, I keep a beam weapon in my inventory to heal in co-op maps if the need arises but it doesn't see a lot of use.
