I use what I find to be best for the situation im in.
Sniper Rifle...Hellbugs and Scrappers = nono for these guns...granted they can be killed with them, just takes some time with bolt actions.
Semi-Auto...really dont like them, I have my rank10 so got somewhat good with them but still not a large fan of them.
Shotguns / SMG...Melee mobs...what?!? <BAM!> where?!?
Pistols...eh....no
LMG/AR..Fun! but havnt really abused them yet
RL/GL...Woo I can blow some **** up with these
Infector/BMG...Awesome yet still dont use them often.
I is in sniper mode, so my main weapons are obviously sniper rifles but I use everything based on situation/mob types.

I like the FRC LMGs the most, I think. I have one blue one with Electrical Damage from Ego lvl 100 or whatever, but I still keep it around. It rocks!
I also tend to favor the Pump Shotguns (the ones that have the extended choke, not the ones with the fanned dispersion.)
Bolt Action Rifles are also good to me. The ROF is not as bad as it seems, and the damage output on the trash mobs is just glory.
I'm starting to appreciate BMG's as well, though I guess technically, they aren't specifically considered "guns".
Detu Ara. I don't think a single weapon that shoots bullets has higher dps.
