My first assassin worked but my 2nd i picked as a medic loaded with a bugged tutorial zone. tried deleting and remaking same result each time.
Now worked after several relogs

yeah i just hit play then > esc > log out. over and over until the ego finally popped up after about 5 or 6 tries
Worked for me after hanging around the spawn area doing random rolls, after about 5-10 mins EGO showed up, then after another 5 mins the crate needed to advance and actual enemies spawned in and I can now proceed.

After restarting I can do the first objective now and continue thru the tutorial..
i made another character as well but it had the exact same issues. Nothing is spawning in and EGO isn't showing up either. On the first run, i was disconnected and managed to get back into the area with my drop pod, in which case ego started up again. Unfortunately, the first objective didn't spawn, so i could see the point on the map but there is nothing to interact with or use to continue the mission.
After making the new character, i couldn't even get THAT to happen again.
got the same issue, no ego, no tutorial, can't even choose which chat to enter and by that I mean I can't choose area, zone or anything. This is my 1st character no deaths, not an auspicious start to the open beta I must say.
Same deal no matter how you come through making your character. If its skipping cut scenes or watching them all the way through after the EGO cut scene your just dumped out into an empty world. I have seen a few other characters show up, but everyone in chat is having the same problem. I have done the multiple restarts etc just seems the game is failing to load assets or something once people load in.
@Nugar you can type /zone to talk in chat but ya its broken as well there is no menu to drop down and select which channel to talk in you have to type /zone to talk to the others for now every time.
sheesh, makes a person want to stay with Defiance OG and forget all about 2050.
