No PVP servers?

Perhaps I did search? Maybe they weren't exactly what I was looking for? Maybe I wanted to bring the issue up again instead of grave-digging older threads? Maybe I just wanted to show my disdain? After all forums are created for people to share ideas & views, and this isn't exactly talked about so much that it spams the forums according to the search bar I used. What concern is it of yours?

Also apparently by the replies of this thread there are many people out there either confused or with misinformation about shadow war to begin with.

I already know how pvp works and such but I just couldn't help but scroll through this entire thread and read the banter between Lady Starla and PVP....hilarious....I'm disappointed that PVP plays PS3 though....I would have invited him on to my friends list....of course I also would have invited Lady Starla on to my friends list as well and than invite both of them into a group on game day....hehe. Hm... This is the first time that I'm seeing a rational PvPer making a point on this forum. Whilst I do not agree at all with the original post, it's a matter of opinion. We're literally polar opposites, I'll play (a lot of) Shadow War and Arena, but I despise being forced into PvPing whilst I'm PvEing as there will always be jerks who think it's fun to gank. I'd rather not have to look over my shoulder every few minutes whilst I'm playing.

It's a matter of chance, and I guess people like me just lucked out with the way Defiance is going to work. I hope you still enjoy the game, though, and I'm glad to finally see someone making rational points for PvP.

I'm normally very into pvp and i like it in games but i don't see pvp servers working in this game at all. way too many tools to take someone out without being able to defend themselves. Even if someone likes pvp alot i don't think they like it when someone 1 shots them while they are trying to do some quests. It'll be so bad gankfest that even pvp players don't want that.

Seriously? This game looks so sick but it should be faction based so people who want to PvP can choose a PvP server and fight the enemy forces in the open world. I couldn't care less about shadow war or arena matches, I find it fun doing quests and then running into an enemy. PvP servers give you adrenaline and satisfaction when you kill another player in MMO's, and are a ton of fun. It's a shooter MMO.. makes sense that you'd have this.. I've been waiting for so long for a MMO shooter for consoles where you can level up your skills/abilities and do quests with open world faction PvP (not shadow war). You couldn't of made some kind of PvP or PvE choice before you made your character...? Honestly ruined my excitement on an amazing looking game.

This is coming from someone who isn't even a PvPer, like I said I couldn't care less about shadow war or arena matches. All I want is a little unexpected excitement once in awhile while leveling and doing quests. Some people may not like these kind of games/servers which is why you should be able to pick PvP or PvE at the beginning.

You should look up some of the livestreams and other videos and i think when you catch up what kind of game this really is you'll notice that going optional PvP is the most logical way to do it. I like the idea of open world pvp too like you described but like i said in post before i think it will have too many cons compared to pros. Mainly because fights in pvp games usually last around 10-20seconds (atleast used to) and in this game it can take 0.1 seconds to take someone out. In other pvp games you can see them coming and you can be prepared since there is a range limit etc but not so much in defiance.

This is a great idea. I hope they add Faction based PVP servers in the future as DLC or something

I would be okay with a PvP server as long as no real lengthy development goes into it and the focus remains PvE. Would hate to see the PvE quality take a hit because of PvP.

LOL I actually love COD but since hearing about this game I have been spending my free time on this forum. :P Still going to play the game because its really good at what it does, but Defiance definitely is more my idea of a fun shooter. No spawn camping most of all! lol.
