I'm noob, having no problem doing the story solo either. I'm more concerned about vets. They "remember better times" it's harder to adapt for them. And are too fast to let power rating catch up so it seems harder then it really is.

Of course there is a compromise that's worked in other games which could be brought into play here. Nerf the areas that really need it for normal play, BUT, also institute a 'hard mode' option for those players who prefer an extreme challenge. That way, everyone is happy.....

Aren't games like Dark Souls and Monster Hunter hard but very popular? It shows that on its own, difficulty doesn't keep people away from a game.

there has yet to be a massive multiplayer game i seen yet that is hard to play, i could be wrong let me know if there a game i dunno bout. sure there are those that are easy to pick up and play, yet hard to master, that is what defy needs to achieve, its the golden formula of creating a good competitive game

You might have a point there, I can't name any "hard" MMO. I'm not a big MMO player though.

Sure, a lot of MMOs have difficult parts in-game like high level dungeons but I think that's not what we meant.

If you were only out to play through once and throw it down, then the difficulty would be fine. But since defiance is a day after day grind doing dailys and weeklys of the same missions..and for alot of us, the same missions for years now..its absurd to have to spend 10 times longer getting in your daily and weekly missions. Im sorry...im just not a fan of it..or the new weapon system at all. It has taken away the desire to grind and having this weapon system has removed the chase from the game.. I can promise this will become an issue. Defiance 2013 was on point for a long time with the weapon system, jp grind/ chase. And the difficulty scaling was really good for new players...started hard but you worked hard to eventually dominate.....went off tge rails somewhere

The difference is artificial/unfun difficulty due to something like overtuned shield regeneration, and difficulty that presents a challenge that can be reasonably overcome with learning and skill, such as learning enemy patterns.

Man, the Tankers remind me of fights in The Division... can we say Bullet Sponge?

Just finished fighting the motherload...yeah this game needs reworking on its fights, it literally took 10 mins to destroy one effing knee pad, motherload was no where near bullet sponges in old defiance. The devs need to learn the difference between engaging gameplay and tedious gameplay, because backing up shooting at knee pads for ten mins is definitely not engaging.
