    "SMASH" Challenge in SF

Don't recall the exact name, but it's the one where you get the melee power weapon and kill scrappers.

This challenge needs to be re-tuned. I think damage on the melee weapon was reduced (or it has something to do with changes to shields), but you can't one-shot the nanites with this weapon, meaning you can't kill them before they explode and thus, can't get enough points to score bronze. I did it several times this morning and topped out 10% below Bronze level—the high score list was empty, indicating nobody else has been able to score Bronze or higher on this.

It's called SMASH! For Top Notch, weekly now. Love my Top Notch and it's vexing me too.

I agree it's dialed in differently now. They seem to have done this on purpose. On one of the livestream's Rarnok and Zephkial discussed this and implied there were some possible solutions to help... involving some of the class abilities. They seem to want to keep this as is for the time being. No, I don't remember which one. So try out different class abilities, have your friends and clanmates try to figure it out.

I was able to help someone hit bronze, on his 2nd try. I've tried well over 10x now and the best I've done is 8500 when a score of 10k gets you bronze, using a combination of class skills.

The problem isn't the damage, its the fact that melee can't one-shot shielded/armored enemies. This is a bug that was also present in Defiance.
If an enemy has a shield/armor, you the shield/armor will always absorb the first hit, stopping the excess damage from passing into the enemy's health.
Defiance is gone. Gamigo has been "not neglecting" the game for over a year, yet there's nothing new except for low effort arkfalls and bitshop items.
I know it might be hard to quit a game you loved for years but you have to understand that it won't get better. Ever. If you like the game in it's current state, then sure, keep playing it. You're enjoying yourself after all. But if you aren't, don't hope for a better future for Defiance. Because it won't come.

Closest I got was 9300ish, and that was using either the Medic or Assault damage buff.

Honestly, the only way you can get gold is if you can one-shot the nanites...which you can't.

Also, while I think it's ok that different classes/abilities have an edge in some challenges (demolitionist in Crystal Defense, for instance), I think it's super sh*tty that a specific class and ability might be required to even have a chance at completing the challenge.

Assassin can use his Charge Blade or Big Bang in the challenge. That allows for easy gold.
