Tips from others meaning I stole them from other Posts:

1.

I'm looking for anybody that wants to help with "Roller License" (PC/EU)
For this you gonna need to have at-least a car (roller) already.
The only part it goes about is having to drive in a car as passenger for 2KM.

I'll put this out there too. Don't know if you are aware of it or not. Most Ark Hunters do not. 'Potential Power' (the term doesn't exist in game) is something Rarnok (a dev) came up with to give us more freedom in what we equip during this power progression progress to 5000. Basically, the average of your top 2 weapons, grenade and shield ratings that you've ever had in your inventory... that then influences the rating spread, rarity and condition of all future drops. For grenades and shields, picking everything up works. For the 2 guns, if you aren't already, start investing that salvage pool you are accumulating to rank up guns that keep raising the level of your 'Potential Power'.

The better we do that, depending some on RNG luck, and how much you churn out salvage... will net you faster progression.

3. The Black Dodge Challenger can be earned in-game by completing all of the "Petal to Metal" Pursuits.
Also, various other vehicles can be earned in the Pursuit General Tab. Sub Tab vehicles. So far this is the only Dodge found that is able to be earned in game. A Dodge Durango RT Redline Red 2 Coat pearl can be earned from the Arkfall Pursuit "Arkfall Investigator. You need to revive 5 ark hunters inside arkbreaks, Kill 100 Volge in arkbreaks, and defeat the Volge Warmaster. During the twich stream today they verified there wouldn't be many vehicle vendors nor number of vehicles. They wanted to keep the numbers down.

4. According to Twitch Stream Maximum Power Rating is 5000 however, the maximum level of a weapon pre-enhancement is 4750. The other 250 comes from enhancing your weapon. This makes arc falls and sieges a good idea to attend when you can for more salvage to enhance your items. After full enhancement your Power level for your weapon will top out at 5000.

5. Prototype weapons fall between Epic and Legendary on the rarity scale.

Many of you from open beta noticed there was no movement to the weapon skill ups. They remained immobile to the point you wondered if they were broken or turned off intentionally. This is not the case.

I learned this from Kusari, and was able to test it myself several hours later.
Weapon skills unlock upon hitting Ego 50... so after 50 is when xp from weapon use starts ranking up your weapon skills. It will still be extremely slow to gain ranks. 2 reasons for this.

First, compared to Defiance 2013 weapons the 2050 weapons do a lot less damage. This doesn't feel like a problem at all, I found I could still with some more intelligent application of my skills, using barriers to keep the numbers able to hit me at once lower. I was playing my Guardian with the 5 stack of heal over time triggering off of kills skill. Whatever it's name is. Of course, this will speed up for the players pushing their "potential power rating" into the 3000, 4000's faster when we'll keep improving our damage.

Second, there are 50 weapon skill ranks, not 20. So the bar crawls, and it's going to take a while to max those, if ever... depending upon the gun type and what you like. I kinda like it, since we can still slightly improve the stats of our preferred weapon types over months and months of play. I didn't pay any attention to the percent bumps on the ranks at all, despite getting rank 3 in RL's... I just didn't bother looking.

At some point, we'll be faced with mobs that have ratings near to ours. Entering SF area for the first time around 1500 Power, I was an easy mark, so I had to be more cautious. SF area got easier as I pushed my power higher and higher. So... how's it going to be going up against 3000, 4000, 4500 and 5000 rated mob groups... and where will we find them? Silicon Valley? Expeditions? The 6 tiers of difficulty in Co-ops... for certain. Yes, Six. Story mode, then 5 tiers where you face progressively higher Power rated mobs. The higher the difficulty, the better the chances of higher rarity drops in the final Ark Chests. Yes, you'll want to bring an Ark Key or two.

Vendors, after completing the appropriate missions?

5. can we expect charge blades to come back as weapons instead of a skill? such a short time even with a maxed skill to use this, kinda defeats the purpose to even do arenas now other than reputation.
Probably. Devs will add them back and call it a content patch.
(Note this is not confirmed nor denied so we will see)


6. reputation vendors appear damaged. what needs to be done to be able to access these?
They work fine for me.

7. There was still no mention of bringing back blades in the Twitch Stream. They mainly concentrated on informing us about a melee weapon headed class (The Crusader) coming in Winter this year. Mentions of Hammers and Shields and reiterating the sword ability for the Assasin Class.

8. Prototype Weapons:
Access to E-Rep Retribution, M212 Demon, Beacon, That's That, and Shondu's Vengeance can all be obtained by completing their respective Zone Pursuits. Note: If there is a data recorder you cant find or you don't have the patience to look for them, YouTube and Google can be your best friends.

The bonesaw seems to be a siege reward.

Complete all missions in areas to unlock prototype weapons, and some also come from rare drops (like killing hellbugs)

I have trashed this game since the first day of head start. Today I look back and realized Trion is working to fix the game even if they screwed the pooch with Head Start, Official Launch, PS4 Players, and D13 transfers. So in the spirit of helping out, I am listing the things I have learned from the forums. These are not my discoveries just things I have read or experienced. Listed in no particular order:

1 This game will crash and will lag. This is a fact and a guarantee. It spends more time crashing than an epileptic in a demolition derby. (I can say that I am epileptic.) According to Murphy's law, this is going to happen at the worst possible time. Trion is working on it.

2. The community is not toxic for the most part just really, really, I mean really pissed off about this launch. In the past, most have been really helpful and friendly. If you catch their attention in the next few weeks while the issues are being addressed just back away really slowly don't make eye contact speak in a soft voice and if they start to rage in the forums throw snack and ammo then run like hell.

3. Follow the Defiance 2050 twitter. It has more accurate and up to date info on server shutdowns and crashes. It is like the CNN or Fox News of Defiance.

4. To head off some crashes when you approach a blue siege ring or the tiny bright red Arcfall ring (not the large omg wtf is that circle) get off your vehicle before reaching it and run to it. Works more often than it doesn't.

5. Large Arkfalls when finished end with a chest spawning. You must have a key to open the chest. Praying to the rng gods during a mission isn't going to work. Below Level 50 you are going to have to find these things as mission rewards. Over level 50 you collect them doing dailies. Besides according to Trion the best loot is found in Co-op chest. Might be best to save your keys for those instead. (Can anyone confirm the Co-Ops drop better gear?) This portion has been edited based on input from Hexthat below.

Hello, Please bear with me since its long winded. If your trying to start Explosion 101 near San Quentin, 1st you must have progresses that far in story line and see the explosion 101 spike in the middle of the road. Then if so you will want to assemble your 4 players in a group.. After this hit the spike in the middle of the road to start. Then go into Matchmaking menu and hit start coop as you move from left to right across menu. This should start coop match. Open for corrections on descriptions.

6. You must switch classes to reach level 50. Once you are 25 either spend real money and buy it or go to the Crater Faction Vendor (the creepy lady standing by the bar). Talk to this shady individual and buy the class you want using rep you earned from missions and script. Note: If the demolition class is not already purchased from founders pack it is not available atm. (Note: This now seems to be incorrect)

#6 I am ego level 50 power level 2424, I haven't bought a single bit or anything else for this game in 2050. Also I only have assault class no others.

7. Your vehicle is now flimsier than a wet piece of tissue in a hurricane. It will blow up if air hits it the wrong way. Until this is fixed its best to avoid races unless you want to see how high your blood pressure can really get or you really hate your family. This is because ******s like me realized we were better off killing things with vehicles. Sorry, my bad. Please be aware in the race pursuits lag may cause your rings not to spawn and quick enough causing confusion and loss of time.

#7 dont cry nerf unless you mean it, people begged the funk out of devs to do something about people driving around arkfalls for kills. This was a wonderful solution that is working. Vehic dont kill $hit now.

He has an excellent point about this. We all get angry and we all may want to rant but be very careful what you ask for. In fact you might want to be just a little specific because normally when a nerf hammer hits there is a ton of collateral damage.


8. Collect your loot as you see it in sieges there is a bug that makes it all disappear when siege ends. Kinda of a funny screw you to end a siege. I knew they were sore losers but damn. WTF we beat your *** so you run off with our gear. &$^#!

9. Weapon skill levels are acquired very slowly starting out. Like a slug running a marathon covered in salt. That is because it is based on damage done and you're just starting out. Your weapon is like a mosquito biting an elephant and thinking its a badass. As your damage goes up (like in the quadruple digits) they will level faster. So at later levels, you will be doing the damage of several small armies. Vehicles are different those bastards hit the ground running. Drive around a lot to level those. Explore, maybe even knock out a few of your exploration pursuits. Pro tip. Use ATV those bad boys can boost and slide through a lot of **** rollers only dream of accomplishing. It's like a pig covered in vasoline strapped to a jetpack.

10. Unless you already played D13 and got the Red Pre-Order or the Pursuit black version you will not get the Dodge Challenger. The Hemi Version was removed from the game. No idea if this is coming back. In fact with exception of creepy Crater Vendor lady, I haven't seen any vehicles sold in the game.

11. For now, if you have seen one vendor you have seen them all. They all offer the exact same things for the same price. They are the Walmart of defiance. This does not include reputation vendors.

12. As a good rule of thumb sell your old unused shields grenades and mods (they cant be leveled now anyway) and nothing can yet be traded. Unless you really need script, just stick to dismantling your unused weapons.

13. It's not suggested but if you absolutely have to have something on the vendor put your best gear on first even if you don't use it. The game is supposed to take into account your highest gear in use and inventory but it just launched so don't take the chance of wasting your script. Even if you don't use your highest power level items and weapons keep them, it will help you get better gear. The gear dropped is based on the average level of your highest gear in each category and then assigned a RNG. Good luck with that. Also before you do your purchase spend the salvage to level up those bad boys even if not used. Leveling them up can add 100 points to power level and get you even better gear. Always master your highest level items even if you don't use them.

14. It seems gear drops are throttled so they only drop after so much time (not including rewards.) Arkfalls and especially Sieges have a higher chance of dropping some useful items.

15. Script is not acquired fast so use it sparingly until late game.

16. The minibosses are full blown bullet sponges. The Division has nothing on these guys. It's best to tackle them with a team or near an ammo supply in a mission so kite them to it. Also, their armor and shields respawn faster than a rabbit on ****** so hit them quick often and don't wait too long or you will have them up to full health, armor, and shields. I am serious a five-second interval between you reloading and hitting him will have his **** regenerating. You are going to spend more time on your knees than a hooker on prom night if this happens continuously.

17. This game is full of bugs and always has been but it is a lot of fun and Trion is working on them. Though some of us think that cattle prods and **** might be of some use in stamping out the bugs. Give the Trion employees a chance to right so many wrongs. Rome wasn't built in a day or in Trions Case 5 years but that ***** sure burned down quick so maybe take a moment submit that bug report and help out the new guys.

18 The D13 clans that have returned need to get together and establish a forum post stating your new names and contact info so that old bastards like me can find your @**%#. $#@! this isn't hide and seek and you sure as ^&*$ arent getting a prize for the longest time before your spotted. Where the hell are you guys. And this time tell everyone what platform your on.

You were right on the spot on that. People are really stressed out by all the problems in the game, since head start, and this is showing in the forums. I understand that, so I'm now refraining from posting even the silliest little joke, because it can be misinterpreted.

Good post, too bad it will fall on deaf ears. A lot of people don't want to use logic or rational when it comes to forum posts, the insist on being as harsh and toxic as they can with their "feedback" because they are angry about something specific. I basically come to the forums and, ill admit, poke the bear sometimes but even with my feedback I try to be as understanding and positive about it as possible. All in all the "toxicity" of the community from my experience has come from people who are coming from the older defiance, understandably so though from reading the Valor program info I can see where a lot of that anger is justified particularly around the promise of account purchased items being transferred and Trion not clearing that up yet but I have seen a lot of people say things out of pure ignorance of knowing what 2050 is. Zone chat was filled for a bit of people saying "They took this out, BS" or "Wheres all my items!" "I wish I had this again".

I can certainly applaud you for having the common sense to approach the forums and 2050 with the mindset you do! I approve of this thread!

Oh don't get me wrong I went on some hate-filled rages myself. Mostly during head start. I just realized if this game is going to work we have to help others find important information and workarounds until Tyrion can fix everything. It may take a while but I really hope they do right by everyone and make good on their promises. Until then I am going to scour the forums and post what I find here and anything I come across.
