    Nim fight...sheesh...

So Nim is destroying me. Getting repeatedly two-shotted by him, no amount of dodge rolling seems to help. Can stay alive slightly longer as Guardian, but currently I dont seem to be able to beat him.

Whats the power rank you're supposed to be come this fight? I realize a good bit of the final mission content involves fighting pr2000 enemies - but following the story line and doing alot of side stuff has me just barely under pr1500.

Congratulations on your persistence of getting that far at your power level. Why not solve some of the issue by doing other content to work up your power level. Stronger shields, grenades and weapon scaling exists all thoughout the 2000's. Being able to return and be victorious vs. Nim can give you incentive.

I don't know why people insist on finishing the content in a rush. This isn't like so many other mmo's where the quest line gives you all the XP to reach max level. The quest line in Defiance was for some fun, telling stories of the New Frontier, unlocking some outfits and the like. Somehow people can't seem to shake the "questline is all" method of progression. Are human's barely more than trained monkey's?

I'm sure you'll show the resiliance you've shown already. Keep at it. Enjoy the mayhem.

I can appreciate your judgement of me being one of the many players who insist on rushing content - but there is a method to my madness: I've previously beat the story and put plenty of hours in the previous iteration of the game. Thus I just wanted to get the main story out of the way so I can enjoy doing whatever I please around the map.

If the Nim fight in 2050 is designed for a pr2000 player - the story, side quests and a healthy dose of random events/arkfalls should get you there. As it stands, it does not. I've been playing every day since 2050 went live, I've done every side quest, every major arkfall and every siege I could get into. Ive been upgrading every weapon I use to max, I've been upgrading to new gear the moment I acquire it - still my PR does not meet 2000.

If the intention was to have players farm up to 2000, around the map for however long it takes, before completing the story - then perhaps the story missions should unlock when the appropriate power rank is met.

Actually, Mavor, I suspect we need to be above 2500, to have the opportunity to acquire a wider variety of effective guns and shields. In the 2000's every bump of 50 seems significant, shields gain capacity, grenades stronger and weapons start dishing. Since in the 2000's your progression can slow, the gun drops seem to have an additional whack taken out of them so you'll want to generate a lot of salvage and start being choosy on which guns to max out.

And yes, while I'd agree having some of the missions unlock based on certain power thresholds makes sense... I suspect, as is, they left it up to us if we want to die horribly and die often trying to 'zerg' each scenario, or give us reason to bulk up.

I'll put this out there too. Don't know if you are aware of it or not. Most Ark Hunters do not. 'Potential Power' (the term doesn't exist in game) is something Rarnok (a dev) came up with to give us more freedom in what we equip during this power progression progress to 5000. Basically, the average of your top 2 weapons, grenade and shield ratings that you've ever had in your inventory... that then influences the rating spread, rarity and condition of all future drops. For grenades and shields, picking everything up works. For the 2 guns, if you aren't already, start investing that salvage pool you are accumulating to rank up guns that keep raising the level of your 'Potential Power'.

The better we do that, depending some on RNG luck, and how much you churn out salvage... will net you faster progression.

If you have access to Assassin and Assault you can beat him at 1500 PR.
Assassin can easily take down his first phase with Big Bang whereas Assault can easily dodge his attacks with Speed while keeping himself alive with Blur.
Defiance is gone. Gamigo has been "not neglecting" the game for over a year, yet there's nothing new except for low effort arkfalls and bitshop items.
I know it might be hard to quit a game you loved for years but you have to understand that it won't get better. Ever. If you like the game in it's current state, then sure, keep playing it. You're enjoying yourself after all. But if you aren't, don't hope for a better future for Defiance. Because it won't come.

Yeah, I beat the Nim fight a few days ago @ 1600ish PR with Assault, using a Mazu BR. You can keep ur distance and do lots of damage if you have the accuracy passive maxed out. And the Blur/OC and Heal Stim is super helpful as well.

There's multiple ways to beat him at 1500 power, I found using medic and 'That's that' the easiest method. Medic will allow you to constantly be healed and regen self revive instantly. Thats that is just broken and will go through his health like it's nothing

Get the E-rep lol it will change your world. I was around 1700 PR when I beat him, i died once simply because I didn't know his pattern but he is a fairly simple boss. In all honesty I found his first phase to be the most annoying, a lot of it is using pillars to hide from his ranged attacks and running away after he teleports to you in the third phase as he will AoE. As for "rushing content" any MMO loot grinder is about being at end game, the story line is not the real game it is simple a means to get you prepared for end game so trying to sarcastically poop on people who are good at grinding or want to get to the end game and begin their grind to 5k is just silly.

Does Nim have a fixed power level or does he scale up to you ? If the latter, how is being a higher power level any benefit or is it that you can acquire higher quality weapons that are available at higher power levels.

EDIT : does having a team help or does that make him too powerful.
