Why is the weapon skill leveling so slow?

Not true. I was ego 25 and level 2 in assault skills. I used assault as my main weapon since ego level 1. The leveling bar I’m told goes from 1-100 to where the vehicle bars are a fraction of that. That’s why we see vehicles leveling a lot faster than weapons.

You should keep high end weapons in your inventory.
It seems you don't level by you power level which is beside your character counting the power you have from the weapons equipped.
It works different, instead it looks for the highest equipped or inside your inventory and gives you always a stronger weapon than that.
Hence why people say inventory is pay to win because if you really think about it, the more sh*t the more power the better the loot.

True, i'm ego 26 and me assault is level 2 to, kept an eye on it and never saw it jumping a inch.
While at vehicles you do see the bars increasing...

The progress bar is bugged on XB1 but you are making progress. Level 50/1750P and have LMGs to level 3 now. The bars never move it just pops up and tells you eventually that you levelled up.

Either spend 4 years leveling everything to 75, or spend money on skill boost.

Do you mean above 5, not 51? My first level 2 skill came around 1400 kills. If it takes 1400 kills a skill up I HIGHLY DOUBT that you're clanmate has killed 70k+ enemies in the course of 9 days, even no life'n it I could see maybe around 30k kills, but not 70k+.

Stuff like rocket launchers is also like 10x easier to level than the regular weapons, it seems.

Stop spreading misinformation, weapon skills are always going up, regardless of level.

No....above 51, I have several skills above 20, and one skill at 30+.

I actually didn't think about it until today, when I noticed I've got progress on "Boomstick to the Face" for shotgun level 5 and the stats page shows my shotgun level as level 2... What.
