That is some funny stuff right there. Smallville went on for ten seasons. These days the ratings system kills off most shows after one or two seasons. Very few shows make it past season five.

At IGN, you get what you pay for. Just a thought, but I bet THEY think Trion isn't buying enough add space on IGN?

I love Defiance but I think it's going to be a niche game.

A lot of people are going to see it as the review sites are.

Whats funny about all this is... look at IGN hands on previews where they was sat next to the developers having a walk through and loving every minute of it. 3 weeks later, Developers for defiance didn't buy any advertising material and they didn't ask IGN to endorse there game... Which EA and many other company's do... they pay IGN to endorse there products and as everybody should no endorsing means to give praise. So that's why IGN give crap games high reviews sometimes not so much because they are getting paid off, but more so they have an actual contract to fulfill. This is why IGN isnot good for real reviews, but they are the best for getting content early so when a game is coming out check them out lol but when it comes to a review stay well clear my friends.

For all those who cant be arsed to read all that quick summary:

Trion didnt pay IGN to promote there product - IGN's response was to give a negative review, but lets be fair defiance at the moment is a bit easy picking to trash.

Kevin VanOrd is actually a respectable journalist and I think he's pretty spot-on with his assessment here.

And yeah, IGN has been a joke for a while now. This should surprise no one.

You can't spell IGNorant without IGN.
It is a new MEME whenever IGN gives bad reviews to fanboys favorite games.

Unless its an EA game (Sim City being the exception), everyone knows you got to slip IGN a million on the side to get a 9.something

not really a fan of IGN. Kevin Van Ord is a great reviewer over at Gamespot.
