defiance needs an update

started defiance this morning and was greeted with a defiance needs an update of 6.63 GB. anyone else see this? i'm on xbox one and i didn't think defiance did updates like this. thoughts? devs?

if the server is coming down to apply patch why is there a need for an update ahead of time unless i'm a guinea pig because my console is a preview beta console for a new patch delivery system. which i would welcome! i would love to hear others thoughts and experiences on this!

Got it (Xbox),not sure what it was meant to do but it has made the CTDing much worse for me.I think that patch post is just for todays maintenance not this download.

Edit: Just seen afropicks post,i'm not in the program so this is a normal patch download.This is normal,there is only so much they can do server side,the rest has to come as download patches.

yeah i just thought about it. this update is for the game and the shutdown later is for the servers. hopefully the combination of the two will fix a lot of the issues like contracts not being completed, etc, etc

I hope the 2 work in unison because this update has made it much harder to run the sieges and falls.Gone from approx 40% chance to CTD when going near something and normally being ok after if i connect back to the same server.It nows seems to be 90% chance and instant CTD if it spawns me near the event on same server re-entry.

If the server patch is meant to help this then i'm all for them dropping the maintenance now because this is ridiculous at the moment.
