Chat Window Bug

While playing the game, the chat window will open up automatically, and when it does, my character will sometimes stop in the middle of whatever he's doing and just stand there. Sometimes I confuse it for lag and try to wait it out until I realize the chat window is open and that's the actual cause. More often than not, this happens in the middle of fighting off hoards of creatures, and I end up dying. I've looked for a way to disable chat, but there isn't one. The most that can be done is Chat Fade Duration, which apparently doesn't do anything, at least not for me. Can this matter please be looked into and fixed? It's kindda annoying to be playing and all of a sudden just stop midfight and get killed because the chat window wants to be stupid.

That doesn't sound normal and has never happened to me.
Go into your keybindings and see if there isn't some combination of keys you might be triggering accidentally.

I've had a few instances where a combination of key presses mistakenly activated at the same time will pop a window/menu that I don't have a key mapped for.

I play on Xbox One. There are no key binding options on there. The only options we have that has anything to do with controlling chat is the ability to change font size and something called Chat Fade Duration. I have fade durarion turned all the way down so it's supposed to fade away faster (assuming that's what that means), but it doesn't help. Turning it all the way up leaves the chat window up the entire time. On Xbox One we have to press left on the D-pad to pull up chat, and that's the only button it can be set to cause we don't have the option to switch it to another button, nor do we have an option to disable chat. It wouldn't be so bad if the chat window didn't sometimes freeze me up in the middle of the game when it popped up.
