Things I wish I knew when I started playing

Let's face it: Defiance isn't quite like any other MMORPG out there. That might be because some call it a MMOTPS (MMO Third Person Shooter), though it's more Rift with guns. But anyway, there are tons of small features and random things that's different from other MMORPGs, so what do you wish you knew when you first started playing this game? Some of mine are:

    - Weapons level up individually, as well as the general weapon type skill. When your weapon has reached it's max level, you won't get more XP in the general weapon type skill.

    - Perks and "classes" don't matter. All classes gets the same skill tree, and you can respect at any time. Besides, after 19 hours, I have tons of perks and three of the EVO skills.

    - We do get more outfits after all, though not as many as in other games. That's one of the few drawbacks I've seen so far.

    - The other drawback is that this isn't really a MMO at this point. It's more an online single-player game with other people. Which kinda sucks, but then again, there's no subscription fee, so it doesn't matter.

    - The story is incredible boring, and I fail to get involved in anything at all. I don't even remember any charactefs other than Cass, and I really don't like her.

    - As far as I can tell, every alien woman is a **** with huge breasts, who came to earth just to 'have fun' with male humans. I don't mean to be a prude, but I'm sick of all this focus on sex. Not just in the game, but in real life too. So much for getting rid of sexism in games, huh...

    - It's very addictive, yet pointless. Especially Arkfalls, though there really should be more of them. A lot more.

"Addictive yet pointless" is apt. I'm loving it but not completely sure why. I wish I had people to actually play the game with. The arkfalls are fun but the only real social aspect I'm experiencing so far.

for this game to be social, you have to make it social. i almost force people to talk to me :P but ive made tons of friends that way. while the chat box sucks beyond belief, its not impossible.

This is exactly my thoughts.. I don't agree with everything OP said but this part is 100% accurate.

So far this game has been like an open world Lost Planet with lots of people. I loved Lost Planet so I have no regrets buying this game, even with all the bugs and the lacking MMO aspect.

I believe its 10 times your ego rating. However, My ego rating was 800 and I had 80000 scrip on my last respec so it could be 10% of your scrip instead...
