    Sniper shot issue

    Been running into this over and over and very annoying. Distance render is maxed to "x" distance from your character. NPC snipers from all factions are not controlled by this number that a player character is. Time and time again I have taken head shots from an invisible target not in stealth but at a rendered distance I can not see. Even scoped from a sniper rifle using a long range targeting with the fall off perk. (useless but used to test a theory). At the furthest distance rendered to physically see the laser targeting of an enemy sniper beading down on your skull you can not target the NPC. At most there is two red eyes and the laser targeting but their shots can kill you and yours will not because from the players POV there is no hit box to target. Player's scope obviously can not push further then max render but NPC's are not bond by this rule. Been killed countless times by floating untargetable red eyes.

    Why run? You'll only die tired.

    I know exactly what you're talking about.

    To stretch your point further:
    When you DO sneak up on a sniper to tag him with a shot, how come his return fire is dead-on accurate within a half second, even if he was facing the other way when he was hit?
    And enemy snipers as you describe are similar to: Raiders using machinepistols with pinpoint accuracy, from impossible distance. If I could get one of those machinepistols as a loot drop in the field - I wouldn't need a sniper rifle anymore.

    This may be tangentially related to your point:
    Go over to the fields passed Hellbug Hillside - there's an occasional shooter that will kill you with no red dot on the map to show where he's at.
    It's not a random shot that crosses your path, I get tracked for several shots as I roll, and end up dead.
    It's happened to me there 6 or 7 times.

    I don't know at this point whether the invisible gunner bug is back, or whether it's an actual NPC who has infinite range.

    The only sniper rifles which are immune to this problem are the Volge Lightning Rifle and Plasma Bolter from the OG Defiance because they shoot real projectiles (I assume the others use hit scan method to deliver damage).

    I'm glad binky mention the raiders, but I find most npcs have a 90% hit rate sometimes Wether it's a shoty, cleaver throw, rifle etc they just seem really accurate.

    I agree that the 1-shot, 200 health kills are a joke, unless it is a sniper headshot. That takes skill. Just yesterday, I was running into what was the last circle, with full health and shield (got lucky and had a kill drop 2 shields with 8 people left), and saw a guy running to my left. I stop, crouch, and start shooting with my blue AR. 30 hit, 30 hit, 30 hit... Dude builds a quick wall and staircase (I do the same), and starts popping his head up. I look over, and start firing, only to be shot 1 time by this guy, with a SCAR, which takes all but 3 (Yes, 3) of my health. Even a headshot with a SCAR should not take 197 health. I mean come on man, how are you supposed to counter that? Just never get shot? This isn't hardcore mode in COD. If a blue AR only does 30 damage, the SCAR should definitely not do 197.
