A video collection - Wonderful World of Defiance VOIP on PC

    We've all complained.
    • Give us PTT.
    • Have it off by default.
    • Make it so we can turn chat box to always on.
    • Save our VOIP off setting.

Post your videos and tell your stories of each time you've entered a group and have heard inappropriate things, babies, spousal abuse, privacy concerns.

Having this always on by default, and having no PTT is definitely a privacy issue.

    Please, give us PTT.

Give us a chat box that's not 'visible longer', but able to be toggled to 'always on' with scaleable text.

Here's the first of I'm sure many future videos.

Be aware, this person had no clue that their VOIP had be turned on, and was a random stranger I grouped with after we did a few quests together.

If this thread is deemed inappropriate, I think that's silly, cause it's an issue that we've discussed, and it's a QOL issue within the game.

Like I said in the patch discussion thread. In-game VOIP on the PC is a WASTE of everyone's time, no one wants it, needs it or likes it. Many MMO's have tried to have their in-game voip and NO ONE uses it, ever, anywhere. Just get rid of it on the PC version and make the chatbox function as if it was meant to be used with a keyboard.

PC users use their own VOIPs with the people they want to use them with. They are infinitely higher sound quality, can be moderated and customized to the users needs instead of a clunky, laggy, intrusive and poor quality piece of junk the in-game VOIP is.

I have to agree the no push to talk button is quite annoying.

Half the time I end up haivng to mute the people with microphones simply because the game echoes, constant annoying noises (coughing, breathing, etc), and like mentioned before conversatiosn you should not hear.

I can not blame the players simply because it is not their fault. However I have no problem at all blaming the idiot who designed it. You have to be a complete idiot with absolutely no online voice chat experience to design such a flawed system.

This whole shoving the VOIP down our throats(ears really) is starting to make me wonder if they're planning to sell the game of to EA. I mean, this is their sort of craptastic way of doing things.

Agreed, the VOIP ingame is trash, especially with the hot mics. I quit a co-op map because a hot mic was so loud it literally was hurting my ears with this wierd screeching noise *Good quality headphones and I couldn't figure out how to mute the VOIP. Really wish I recorded that for it would making anyone cringe.

good quality text chat system for PC, we have our own TS/vent/mumble which is highly superior to any ingame VOIP.

This is especially bad in Shadow Wars and dungeon groups. I can't count the number of times I've muted the game due to all the people talking to someone in their room, or hearing constant breathing/keys being pressed. It's beyond annoying.

I agree its anoying, but Hey here's an idea, mention it to the person... Ive had it before, I kindly said, hey dude your mic is open, i can hear everything, he muted he's mic and apoligized. And like other people say, mute that person untill we get a fix.

Problem is, in case you didn't read the patch notes, there isn't going to be a fix. What they ARE fixing is having AReA VOIP always on by default.

People have heard me singing along to Cantonese love songs from the 80s and 90s.

I have heard many pets, spouses, children etc. Though I can't complain because of what I've done by accident as well All my inputs are muted now, so that won't happen again!
