Yes, we are going through a transition period between Trion and Gamigo. While we deal with this, our production schedule has slowed down. This is does not in ANY WAY mean we will be closing down either Defiance or Defiance 2050. In fact, we have zero current plans to do so and it is most certainly business as usual on the dev team (albeit slower than usual while we work to get our house in order).

We are working on a letter for you, the players, much like Trove has done and will be posting that in the next couple of days. Thank you all for your patience during this transition and I will see you all in game!
Bro, c'mon, it doesn't mean this game won't be tossed either. Just going by history (beta D13-to now) there has been A LOT of 'We have no plans/We have plans to yada yada'.....and bam, the bottom falls out. I'll continue to log and roll until it's shut down, as I enjoy the hell out of the game. However, the $150 total I've spent on D50 so far, is it........until there is something of real substance in 'announcements' from whoever is running the show.

How's the 'working on something to give the Ultimate Founder pack buyers' for us not being able to roll our 3 days early on PS4 going? Like I said, 86 the typical 'pr' posts and lets hear something of real value.

Anyone remember the several 'no plans/zero plans' for Defiance to be on next gen consoles? (just to name one of many). I sure as hell do. 'No/Zero plans' doesn't carry any weight....or calm anyone's "fears". Well maybe a handful that have selective memories....but yea, not the ones that have been on the Defiance 'roller coaster' for years.

I would also like to know more on this... guess the 'waiting game' is my only option right now.

Not sure about enjoying them. As far as the future I hope the whole company gets bought out and replaced so these games will quit being junkers. I love defiance. I hope it gets the justice and upgrade that is well deserved.

    Future

    Hi all,

Maybe an other path of thinking:

We can try to search and discuss player numbers but we will never come near the answer. It maybe doesn't matter that much. In the current world things has to bring some profits to keep people happy. Only a few people are willing to give without expecting something in return.

So only the owners know how much of which is there. The rule they probably handle is: as long as there is enough profit to motivate all parties they will do it. This is independent of the number of players.
For the "healthy and good feelings" of course: the more players the better the feeling.

If that is correct, we can help create a possible future.

Reduce the cost to increase the profit
There are two versions of the game: D13 and D50. If we make a choice and select only one, it would be a good first step to make things easier and more manageable. A merge back to one game could be a solution.

If the owners would let the players help (if they make it possible) could reduce the cost further. I know that there are players who are able to do that and would do that for free (or maybe a few in-game credits).

There are many more things the players can think off to help keeping the game online. Try to simplify the problem so it becomes more attractive to the owners.

    Commitment from the owners
Why would the players commit and how to keep it that way?
The owners have to be fair, caring, open and non-secretive. That sound impossible, isn't it. But they could try and maybe be amazed how it works. Or not but than it would be a good try.
I already hear many of the management, devs and other staff say: "That will make things very complicated", "That's impossible", "Than we loose control", etc ...
I know that feeling. Without thinking about it, it sound scary and threatening. So short answer "no".

But the idea is now planted and only needs some watering. Don't judge to quick, give it a thought.

What can we (the players) do
Very simple in fact. Look a little deeper within yourself and try to choose between a few things. Then think about what you "must have" to enjoy the game and what changes/option you would like in the future to stay content.
Keep in mind that the more wishes you have, the more it will cost and the less chance of survival.

If someone has the will and power to create something to know what the players choose, that would be great.

Title: Do you want Defiance to survive?
Take a few minutes of your time and keep Defiance alive.

    - Which version would you like to survive? D13 or D50 (select 1)
    - More relevant and to the point questions with the purpose of letting Defiance survive.

I thank you for reading this and I hope for survival.
