The point of destruction arkfall isn't to finish the arkfall, it's to finish your bounty. In HB destruction, the skitterlings come in mass number and just stand there, so it's a few minutes to finish even a "long" bounty like pistols or grenade.

The cystal must be destroyed before the timer runs out if you wish to recieve a score and see the score board. This is when it is working correctly. Finishing any ark or seige just means another is on the way. A busted arkfall , running down the entire clock to a fail with no score is unacceptable for a game that is all about colllecting scrores, skills, currencies etc.

Is this the one where you hit the exposed nodes on the crystals? I did 3 of these earlier and worked normally.

There is a vareity of break the crystal minor arks, scrapper , mutant and hellbug ones all glitch often, not always though, but often, keep playings them you will see ( in the last few days i have run into a couple glitched ones) , very irritating to put your time in , for it to fail. And especially irritating that as far as i can recall this error has alway exsisted, many player reported in many threads for years.

If you want weapon kills go run yuka liro arena. Two rounds full of skitterling. Can get all weapon kill kills this way.
