Defiance was a point in time, when we fought back. It spawned a battle, quite obviously. Later a place was named after it.

Pretty sure it says exactly that in media for either the game or the show but I don't recal which.

I figure as time goes on they'll open up that huge map, you notice about 60% or more of the map is greyed out, I suspect they'll open those up as the show/DLC starts to roll out.

I realized yesterday that ingame we're not actually playing in or around the town of Defiance. The previews of the show tell us that Defiance is St Louis, yet we're playing in & around San Francisco. For those who are unfamiliar with US geography, they are separated by 3,300km... So that begs the question, will we ever make it to Defiance???

I highly doubt any such DLC will be released, they specified that they wanted to keep the game and the show separate in the sense of "oh i just killed the main bad guy.. but why is he still on the show?" yes you interact with the main 2 characters, yes we're in the same "world" but again, i doubt any such content will be released.

Thats easy to get around. They could mention in the show that theres a riot just outside of Defiance, and then have an instance where your carried by Erep by stratocarrier to help them in Defiance, then in the next show mention how there was an Ark Hunter that put the riots down (for example).

I do not see a point in the TV show if the areas depicted there will not be accessible in-game, it will feel very disconnected then, the only thing connecting us being two not very memorable characters (the Nolans, with the female one being straight up bad).
