if you pre-ordered a digital only version of the game your set up for beta.

if you pre-ordered a physical copy your beta key should be on your recipt.

What about if you've pre-ordered through Steam? Steam doesn't know my Trion account info and cannot flag my account as ready for the next beta.

I emailed support with a screenshot of my Steam purchase receipt email and they added Defiance to my account and flagged me as ready for beta.

amazon says this:

PLEASE NOTE: Orders made up to 23:59 GMT on Thursday March 14, 2013--codes will be e-mailed to you on or before the official Beta event on March 15 to March 18.

Orders made after to 23:59 GMT on Thursday March 14, 2013--codes will be e-mailed to you within 48 hours of dispatch of your game.

looks like UK pre orders will get the email from amazon with beta code for xbox etc before the 15th
