Yep i feel your pain ,the chat on pc is just a game breaker.I found that we could not even recruit due to this ,even tho we use TS3 ,we felt lots of people might not want to talk ,so there is no feeling of an mmo ,because of the chat ,also the content for the pve ****** is non existent.we had only a 10 man branch from our wow chapter and now i find myself the only one playing .So i find myself now leaving my guild to play this broken game ,despite all its flaws i really cant be doing the whole *dons wizard hat and robe scenario*,you cant beat riding into town on your quad all rugged and wielding an in your face pump action shotgun.

We need a standard MMO chat window with proper tabs for guild/ zone/ global / trade etc, and we need transparency settings etc.

You guys made rift, you know what im talking about and you know why its important.

On our private guild forums people are dropping like flies and going off to do other things, we have mumble but some people arnt comfortable talking etc, this is one of the games biggest drawbacks atm, and will get worse if its not improved quickly. not just the half assed changes in the patch notes.

I want to see this all do well but community is very important, not just comunicating between friends and guild mates but the world around you.

    Please fix this asap.
Get people on the chat server to atleast listen. If they don't want to talk you can't do anything about that. for a fps the chat system is good that being said do you really want to run stuff with people and have to type everything out to them all day??

    Wrote this in another thread.

There is a bug that when you turn off the ingame voicechat it also turns off your entire chat tab. This is being fixed with the big patch coming and then u can actually turn off ingame voicechat and communicate via the clan chat ingame.

Most likely 90% of the people in your guilds is not saying hi back due to the fact that they turned off the ingame voice communication and therefore also disabling their own chat.

As one of those older gamers, whose pals are mostly older gamers, I think it's just shy people being shy. We all socialize on voice comms all the time.

Unfortunately right now muting the mic also mutes all of the clan chat, though I believe this is set to be fixed in the upcoming patch.
I have similar problems with our guys, the difference being that the chat system seems to user-unfriendly & non-functional to them, that they don't even want to bother using it. Many use keyboards, but that detracts from gameplay at times. Its even worse when trying to communicate with new/potential members who arent in the clan yet

btw, for any devs reading this, please add more options for inviting friends/non-friends to the clan/guilds. So-far, it seems like the only way you can send one is to be in the immediate area, or be in a party with them. Many of our members, or people showing interest via forums/etc, are not on at the same time. The Search feature has not helped.

True i may be digging to deep there, anyways another issue is personally I always have to leave voice chat just do do missions because i dont want to listen to people talking while im trying to enjoy cutscenes etc, so that also further divides people when at least of there was a proper text chat system you are still connected, but not as distractingly.
