Difference between ego lvl rating and ego rating

When you first sign into the game at least for me two different ego ratings pop up. Now I know that each time you fill up your xp bar your ego goes up ten and you get an ego skill point. When you complete certain challenges you can get +5 to your ego for example but it won't effect your skill points. Is there any other differences for the two ego ratings?

That is the best explanation I could find so far. My EGO rating is 571 but my EGO level rating is 430.

Basically what you said, they are just combined to open more inventory slots/loadouts/etc and give a boost to your Ego :P. You get one type of bonus for real levels, and pursuit bonuses help pad your way up to max ego and therefore unlocking more inv space/loadouts/perks.
