How much time your SO need to reload, cuz my pump-shotgun (Grind fragger, without mods in this case) needs about 13 seconds for full reload. So i wonder, how much time needed to reload a pump-shotgun will be long (relatively) ?
Most of the time, yes I am 1 shotting people, but like I said, you have to practically be in hugging range unless they do not have full shields and health. Otherwise you're only taking out their shields or leaving them with half of their health left. I've tried shooting people from what would normally be considered "shotgun range", that is far enough away so that a melee can't connect when attempted. Here you cannot 1 shot people with the SO. Its simply too far, but other shotguns like the combat or pump shotguns will do just fine.

The instances that I'm talking about that I ran into are not a case of not being close enough, but rather a case of being too close. I've had times where I've been so close that I could have bit their ear. I pulled the trigger and bam, they were left with a little bit of health, sometimes resulting in my death before I could pull out my secondary shotgun. Logic dictates that, at that range, I should have been able to kill them, but for some reason, whether lag on my part or in the case of being "too close", as happened in Gears 3, I was not able to pull off the 1 shot kill.

    As for reload times:
    My VOT Nano Fragger

    Stock Mod: 1.10x Melee DMG
Barrel Mod: 1.03 Aim and Hip DMG
    Clip Mod: Empty
    Scope Mod: Empty

    1.15 Crit Mult

    DMG: 250x12
    RoF: 1.5
    Mag: 2
    Reload: 2.0
    Accuracy: 10
    Bloom: 0.00

That is the stats on the Nano that I am currently using. Nothing impressive, just doing it to rank them up.

I'm not at all surprised by the reload time on your Grind Fragger. I believe it has about a 1 second reload time, but that is per shot. My plain ole Votan Fragger takes 9 seconds to reload 10 rounds because of a .95% reload speed reduction due to mods.

Now, referring to the 4-5 shots required by pump shotguns to kill someone. I realize that its generally not possible to land every single shot, though I have with my auto fragger, it still kills you relatively quickly. I usually run into them when Im running away to reload or I don't check my corners while running around. In other words I don't play too smartly. In those games I usually come out breaking even, or just barely positive.

Taking a look at another shotgun that I happen to have, though don't use, is a VBI Shotgun. just like my Votan Fragger, which has a ridiculously wide reticle, this shotgun's reticle is more in line with that of the VOT Auto Fragger's reticle. Its slightly slower firing than my VOT Fragger (by .04%) and has a smaller clip size (6 as opposed to 10), but, after testing, seems to be much the same accuracy as my auto fragger.

IMO the accuracy ratings on shotguns are bugged, because the VBI shotgun and VOT Auto Fraggers are sure a whole lot more accurate than 6.7. The VOT Fragger has a 15 accuracy rating but seems less accurate than the aforementioned shotguns.

Also, my entire former post is referring to PvP. At no point do I mention PvE.

EDIT: I just realized that I misunderstood your question about reload times. I thought you were asking me about what my reload time was, not what I thought would be a good reload time. Thinking more on the subject I believe that just a nerf to the RoF of the pump shottys will suffice. Their reload is fine.

Also, on a side note, your Grind Fragger is a combat shotgun, not a pump shotgun.

    Y'all whine too much.

Trying to balance PvP and PvE at the same time is just dumb. I can't believe Trion doesn't get that...

the SO shotgun is useless in pve, so its a pvp weapon...sooo...balancing would not affect pve so hard

There is no such thing as a "PvP weapon".

Contrary to what you believe, the change would not affect PvP one bit (clock+shotguns is the problem, not Sawed Offs alone) but it would totally ruin the Sawed Off Shotgun for PvE.

The reason for that is it seems a quick and easy fix. All they are doing is creating a problem by solving the wrong problem.

IMO, the time to kill is too short in PvP regardless of weapons, the SO is just the most effective example. You can burn down another player in few seconds with a fast firing AR or an SMG. Few grenades, 1 sniper shot to the head etc. A better way would be to add a blanket 20% damage reduction for PvP and more guns and perk setups would become viable instead of just the few high damage guns.

Exactly. It is an easy and quick solution, but far from the optimal.

Sawed offs aren't subpar PvE. I can oneshot a warrior and everything in the immediate area of the warrior with the purple swirl element on my sawed off.
