Ooh, seems this isn't the case for meWell hopefully.. No dutch online retailer so far has Defiance listed.
Mind = blown
I suppose the deal with Namco Bandai isn't such a great one after all.

All I can say is if NZ and Australia, are not considered important enough to have access to the Collector's editon for Xbox 360, or PC or PS3 if that is your platform, then I guess the game is not important enough for me to buy. And I will make sure everyone who I have been pimping the game to, don't buy it.
As for the release date Mightyape still has it for the 4th and the email I got from JBHifi 2 days ago had it for the 4th as well. But if EB's release date is accurate, that is another reason not to get the game. We should get it the same week as the rest of the world or again it's another slight against us and our value as customers.
But I guess I will just spend my money on the sweet Bioshock Infinite collector's edition instead.
I was *very* tempted to do this as well. But to be honest, as soon as I heard "Namco Bandi" I was expecting this and made plans. I've also already invested too much time and effort into projects around this world to just dump it. And I do enjoy working on the languages and figuring out the story and world. The game being late is annoying, but doesn't stop me from liking what I do.
I also doubt Trion expected this themselves, and I don't specifically blame them. Still it would be nice to get *some* sort of official recognition of what in the Nine Hells happened. Seriously...It's over priced, late and missing things. From the looks, we don't even get Pre-order bonuses. There is ZERO reason to purchase locally on PC. It's cheaper, earlier and has bonuses to order a digital version.

Yep, but I am a console gamer, my friends are on Console, and it's been years since I was a PC gamer. My current PC is too old to run Defiance on PC, and I am not planning to build a new one until the middle of the year. If I was a PC gamer I would have preordered from this website or off Steam a while back. But I certainly do prefer Hard copies of games. The US versions will not work on NZ consoles, the UK versions will, Amazon.uk won't ship to NZ though and the Forwarding agencies are too expensive for me to want to bother with them.
Right now it's simply a case of we here in NZ and Australia, and France and the other European Nations which have no access to the Collector's edition are the same as every other customer, we should have access to the same editions, and the same choices of what to buy. We should be given the same consideration, and treated with the same respect.
After all I have been posting about this issue for months. I PM'd Lance and he responded but said Trion was waiting for the retailers to get back to them, but how can the retailers order the Collector's edition if Namco-Bandai is telling them it is US only? All my excitement and enthusiasm has been worn down by trying to find out why the hell we aren't getting the Collector's edition. And the lack of any real response from here. I find it silly that I am getting more information on the matter from the Retailers, than the official forums. and there is now 3 weeks to go until the official release date.
Steam's digital deal right now is one of the better options for the non swag folks.. IF and ONLY IF the 3 tiers of bonus content for enough preorderings goes through. However with only about 9 to 10% of their goals for preorders just for the first tier only after 3 days of advertising has happened so the chance for even getting the first tier, let alone the second and third ones seems a bit of a pipe dream.
But I feel the pain of the NZ AU folks but Japan's had it worse in the past with many game in box form and digital. Skyrim's release really ticked me off the most when ONLY Japan was prevented from even unlocking access to activation of the game on the "World Wide Release" day and made to wait a whole month before they could activate through steam their games... even if they'd paid to have copies shipped from the states.
But almost every retailer or digital distributor sanctions various countries in various ways or fleeces them on prices.
