Power slide on xbox

can someone tell me how to do a power slied in a vehicle on the xbox.

One of two ways:

Induce your slide by holding down the "B" button as you go into a turn
or
Induce your slide by holding down the reverse gear (left trigger).

I have found that if you do both at the same time then release one or the other while maintaining pressure on the one you didn't release, it helps keep the momentum so that you can turbo out of it without losing too much momentum. Also, holding both down allows for some killer doughnut action .

I usually hit boost and then the left trigger while steering in the direction I wanted to go.

If you're trying to get the pursuit for power sliding - just do that until you run out of juice, let it recharge, then repeat.
