or seem that way as the bonuses from leveling dont get applied until the item is in your inventory.

if you referring to the need to level up your weapon skills with weapons that aren't xp capped then yes, that it true, that is a different grind. But the fact that that can be done with store bought whites does make it a bit easier that running dungeon x 40 times with 20 friends for that shiny new sword that does 2 dps more than your old one.

I'm pretty sure I have an unleveled, unmodded bolt action sniper and the purple sniper with the same name that you can buy for 200 tokens does 5 less damage or something like that. I'll check it again next time I log in.

That was my problem with the old style of MMOs. I never saw the point of doing that when the set of gear you had on was just as good.

If people keep banging on about balanced PVP my head is going to explode...you want balanced PVP go play sodding CoD. It's supposed to be an MMO.

COD is far from balanced. They make SMGs way too powerful in that game and way too accurate at distances.

I didn't know MMO was shorthand for "Must have unbalanced PvP." Oh wait, it isn't.

And seeing as this is a third person shooter, balance is important since the developers want skill to matter much, much more than the items a player is wearing.

Though at this point I would welcome any work done to many more modes and maps for pvp over balance.

No, you miss my point. My point is that PVP is not the only thing that an mmo is supposed to have. So pandering purely to pvp players makes game a waste of the effort it took to make it, when you consider the other 3PS's out there at the moment, personally, I like the new tomb raiders multiplayer....but I digress. This is not supposed to a purely deathmatch experience, this is meant to be an mmo, so its not all about balanced pvp, and if it IS, then they've wasted their time.
