On topic: If the Gulanee are energy beings, why does the only picture I can find of one portray one in a suit of armor? Is dodging not more effective than constantly wasting energy moving around in a suit of armor?

In their natural state they may be somewhat formless and need such a suit to interact better with us. (Kind of like Anubis in Stargate).

Makes me think more of the Vorlons than the Anubis warriors. I always got the impression that the gear the Anubis warrior wore was more of an enhancement (comms, HUD, etc..), and for theatrical purposes (scaring the primitives, as it were). The stuff we've seen in the videos makes me think more of an armored environmental or hazard suit.

I didn't mean the warriors I meant Anubis himself, he was energy but could not (because he was not allowed) to interact with the physical world, so he has a shield to encapsulate himself. Maybe the Gulanee require something like this, or maybe as their name suggests they require gulanite to live and a suit stops them from dying.

Actually I believe its called the "Ultimate Form Theory" whereby most life would conform to certain physical parameters at certain evolutionary points - Bipedal movement, opposable thumbs, large craniums are all things that are needed for us to be us, why can't it be the same for the Votans. (Granted that theory has only used humans as an example, seeing as we know of now other life)
