Weapon Question

If I'm starting to level a pistol, say to 60,000/700,000 (example) and I change to a different pistol and level that pistol to say 100,000/700,000, will my total pistol skill now be 160,000 towards the next pistol rank?

A lack of a mouseover to weapons skills progress bars leave me wondering. Thanks!

Yep. The XP caps on individual weapons means that you actually -have- to change weapons if you want to keep improving your weapon skill.
