Mostly because people like the fact that they have locked in their characters name I would imagine as its annoying when someone else gets your nick.

Not too mention the effort of getting your character level'd up goes to nothing.. lol.

ah well million of different combinations, if you dont get the one you want, pick another. never been a fan of going the using numbers or mis-spelling route
