Only way to get it is through the vendor. At least that's what the patch note implies.

New Prototype: Nexus

As always, this event brings a new Prototype to the table! Introducing the Nexus – Once fully mastered, this pistol deals Quantum damage, and has a chance to build up and unleash a devastating plasma charge. Complete daily and weekly Paradise contracts to purchase this prototype at the Paradise Territory Vendor, only available during the Event Horizon event!

1-It's quantum, so almost useless;
2-It's a 3 rounder detonator with slowass fire rate and slowass reload rate;
3-Doesn't do much damage.
4-*Drumroll* The effing vfx is similar to pumpkin patch, but purple. Someone at gamigo deserves a medal of stupidity for that. It is ridiculous that everyone has been asking for a tone down on PP vfx and all they came up with was another weapon with terrible vfx.

At least this one is so bad that nobody will bother with it.

Quantum was great before the pl tweak. Now enemies are to easy, and nanos have become an after thought.

Kinda, by purchasing reputation booster. And some ppl saved up paradise reps past events, that's why

Just to try to clarify what the Nexus is ... it is a pistol (in terms of the 3D model used). It is the same model as Plank from original Defiance and the icon used is a pistol.

However, it's behaviour is that of a pistol that shoots small grenades (like a detonator) ... like Valor or Organic Torment from original Defiance ("Modified Northstar Blaze which has had its rounds replaced with frag grenades").

These small purple grenades can produce large purple explosions:

LE... is it a flat grenade shot like the Prancer? or the arc/lobbing grenade similar to the Northstar Striker/Organic Torment? And the 3 shots? I'm unclear... is there a central explosion then 3 bomblets like the PP? ... or just a full auto lob 3 grenades?
