Ugh, I get it. I know there's a ton more to do. But the story is the story. If it wasn't meant to have an end then it shouldn't have had an end. It did. And a relatively hard one at that. And people could say all the garbage they want about how just the satisfaction of beating it should be enough, blah blah blah, but that's a load of malarkey. Of course it felt good to win that battle. That isn't the point. The point is that the least they could do is give you more than one level 1 mod's worth of scrip for it. Hey, how bout give me a level 3 mod, or a gold gun, or a neat new vehicle. How bout anything to make me feel going forward that I actually accomplished some part of this game. Something that says hey, good show, here's a neat new buggy that you can only get from beating that level. Or here's a nice new assault rifle called the hero rifle. I don't care. Just anything at all more than a buck and a hey, ark hunter, let me buy you a drink. How hard is that to grasp? I mean really?
No sense of accomplishment in this game so far, even after beating the main story. Still just grinding away with no real progression or finances to speak of. Hell, I feel like I've been stuck on 4 ego bonus slots forever. Not that the bonuses seem to do diddly squat anyway, but that's a whole separate point.
Instead of flaming away, I'll try as nicely as I can to remind you that what you experienced wasn't the grand finally of a game.
The final mission you experienced was not a conclusion as such, in the same way that raiders still run rampant, 99'ers still insist on their way to "perfect harmony", Scrappers still run rampant guided by some inexplicable hand or reason, and Dark Matter are most probably still out to eradicate those they deem inferior.
That being said, I can somewhat understand you - but not quite relate.
The scrip you lost "wasn't that much". As subjective as that may sound, side missions, arkfalls, random drops and so on would eventually garner you enough scrip that the amount you lost starts to seem like it was petty cash.
Another aspect is that you are "supposed" to gauge your accomplishment against other players in the game, not just the story.
As you said, you felt a sense of accomplishment after beating a hard fight - and while the rewards were petty, hopefully you'll be able to look past that and look forward to the next hard fight you may come across as the game evolves beyond its current scope.![]()

The Rant was unnecessary but the final boss rewards should be bumped up a little. Right now the final Boss isn't even worth beating.

I read up until the point when the OP mentioned the scrip difference due to resurrection costs, and it made me think of something. What happens if you die with 0 scrip? I'm assuming that you are resurrected at no cost, but you're broke, so that's the drawback in itself. But what if you trade all of your scrip to a friend before entering a difficult mission, one of which you are certain to die within at least once? No loss of scrip! Unless, of course, this is someone you met two minutes prior...
As for getting 500 scrip for completing a mission, that's actually pretty good. The most you see on mobs is about 1 or 2 scrip per kill. If anything, they need to definitely increase the amount you can find in the outside world. Hell, I've found more scrip on a hellbug than I have on an EMC mutant. Where's the logic in that? Do they eat wallets, too?

Good points, and well taken. I mean trust me, I was supposed to go to bed but am still playing side missions. It's not like I hate the game or am gonna swear off it or anything. Guess it really was just almost offensive to see 500 scrip. Like you said, that's next to nothing. Would 5 grand have been so overly generous to not be reasonable? To be honest, they probably should just let the last mission be free, as in ya don't get penalized financially for dying. That would've been pretty cool too. Though I must say, the fact they let you start at the beginning of whatever round you were at was quite welcome, as opposed to starting the whole battle from scratch...
Should get at least 10 grand for the final boss or at least a legendary weapon

Aye, it is perhaps a bit on the skint side as far as rewards go - but between the impoverised farming community and Varus, perhaps it was quite a big sum, albeit trying to look at it from a "roleplay" perspective doesn't increase the value of it all.
On a sidenote, I noticed you mentioned:
Well, the gun - while not your prefered weapon - was one such reward. As far as I'm aware, that gun is unique (not by rarity, but by name), and can't be found outside of completing that mission.
