If I understand correctly, once the weapon is maxed out, it is useless in gaining that class skill. So when people sell/trade/buy weapons and they're used then it's pointless right? or is the gun ranking reset?

i was wondering the same thing. is it better once we've maxed a weapon out to get rid of it or does it count for overall weapon xp anyway?? also why do so many not respond to trade things its an easy to get better stuff!!

Once a gun is maxed in exp you can't rank up your weapon proficiency.
So you can either; break it down for resources, sell it for scrip or keep it for PvP (if you want the little extra boost or if you really like the weapon).
doesn't make sense to pay 20k scrip for a maxed orange... it wouldn't help rank your skill up.
