Trion can you grow a brain please. About weapons.

Now before you say "Stop qqing about the weapons" read what I say.

Ok, is it really that hard to setup seperate damage/range stat bases for weapons when in pvp mode compared to pve? you keep on nerfing **** for pvp which renders the weapon pretty much worthless for pve which is most of the game. Infectors, rocket launchers, grenade launchers (most rocket/nades anyway). I mean you guys did this in rift, when a skill was overpowered in pvp you made a seperate version of the skill that was active in pvp mode, this way you don't screw the pve side over. This way you can make both sides happy, I mean infector seems like a fun weapon, as does the lasor BMG's but because their damage is just so bad compared to even a pistol or pretty much any other gun they just are not worth using. Now your going to nerf infectors that are already worthless in pve to make them even WORSE? What kind of logic do you devs use to think this stuff up? I and I am sure alot of others would love to know, because as far as I can see its pretty.. silly. Defiance is not even a pvp based game at all, so why is there so much focus on balancing it and screwing pve which is the vast majority of the title over in the process? I like pvp myself if its balance, but not when said balance comes at totally ruining the pve side, most rockets/grenades ain't worth using since alot of other guns can do way higher damage in a much shorter time, and targets are rarely close enough together that you hit mutiple with 1 shot.

Also, who was the guy who decided that once your exp bar on the weapon is full (on the weapon itself) for it to not up your skill with that weapon type at all? I spent a ton of salvage and time collecting it to fully add mod slots to a few weapons, and now that said exp bars are full they have essentally become worthless to me since I cannot gain skill level with them, this needs to change, especally since your keeping every version of that gun with the same base damage, I shouldn't need to have to keep switching to a new gun to keep the progression going, especally when switching gives me NO BENEFIT WHATSOEVER since the base stats are the same.

Anyway yeah, be nice to see a comment from a dev in here but I doubt it'll happen. I like the game but I am getting annoyed at how you devs seem to want to destroy the pve side of it with unneeded pvp weapon nerfs that effect pve. (due to no seperate stats for in pvp mode).

Why not... just use a junk rifle and keep your good one when you really need it... It's not worthless.

honestly they did barely anything from beta, the weapon system had 0 thought behind it, with regards to pve and pvp this isnt something that should have been a surprise to anyone. personally and if they took their beta seriously they should have rehauled the entire weapons system because at current its a joke, whoever worked on it i would never hire for any project ever, its just that poorly thought through. i think it was more about getting everyones money then developing a top end game, which is sad, dont get me wrong i think they did a amazing job with rift but judging from reactions in game, the forum and even their responses in live support, this game is a colossal failure, 4 tickets i sent into their tech support, one was even escalated and i had to eventually resolve all of them myself with no help from Trion.

I like they are saying there is big patches coming but honestly unless your rehauling the entire system im not going to hold my breath, especially after seeing these "rewards" we get for the launch problem, so many boosts, which to me just seems like more marketing to keep players in game, but nice loot boost, it will give me more of a chance to pick up a shield or grenade, oh the joy.

What exactly is a point you 'really' need it? Bosses give the biggest chunks of skill xp. Switching trash weapons with trash mods every few instances makes the game feel really, really pointless. You can use that great weapon when you get your skill to 20 - but what would you really have left to do with it at that point?

Most fantasy characters have a signature weapon, not vendor trash AK-2.

What i get from this is they want you to change up the weapons from time to time, rather then use 1 weapon all the way up to ego rating 4k, and maybe use the different types of weapons in the game fire based or electric what ever you like, and noone is forceing you to switch to other weapons if youlike the one you max'd draw back is you cant get weapon lvl up unless you gimp yourself or if you are lucky enough to find a good weapon replacement.

Is the system perfect no, would i like to keep using some of my earlier weapons yes, but the game is about evolveing not staying stagnent and keeping your weapons and shields that you had from the creation of the toon.

I see it other way round. While using 4-slots-open weapon only because I don't have (yet) enough salvage to retrieve my mods from previous weapon makes it feel more like an accomplishment when I am finally able to mod a new weapon. But most likely I tend to skip some weapons and use them unmodded or use white vendor mods instead.

This system rocks. It needs careful thinking which mods you install into which weapons. You're running out of salvage soon if it is a habit to put the best gadgets on every piece of crap that comes up.

Additionally, good thing is that "old orange" weapon will serve well on further gameplay. Even then when the skill is maxed. Can't really see such behaviour on many games. Most of them require constant upgrading.

EDIT / ADDITION: I totally agree balancing weapons between pvp and pve must be a nightmare and it's going to disappoint someone.
