He's bursting fire to increase accuracy because he's in an unsupported firing position.

There's a big difference between a weapon with only burst fire capability and burst firing weapon via trigger control.

On the M249 SAW we were trained to rip off bursts that were the duration of a three syllable sentence. My drill sergeant taught me "I hate cats."

But there exists not a single machine gun in the U.S. arsenal incapable of fully automatic fire. That's the freaking point of the platform and the reason why the LSAT will never be adopted.

And it's also the point of many Votan weapons. Even their pistol is fully automatic with an extremely high rate of fire.

    So should be their LMG.

Edit: And apparently the point of the LSAT is to reduce the ammo load so soldiers don't carry as much weight. I find that bizarre as I'd much rather have the fully automatic capability and lug around an additional 10lbs worth of ammo.

They tried the same thing with the M16A2/4 where they removed fully automatic fire and instead instituted a burst. Now the M4 has been standardized as general issue and it features fully automatic fire (although there are older models with burst instead of full auto) due to the proliferation of CQB needs.

In short, some idiots think burst sounds good on paper but then RL experiences in combat dictate the complete opposite and we go back to full auto capability.

One of the many problems with the Disruptor is the fact that the 3 round burst has a built in delay between each burst. It's not really a 3 round burst per say, because it doesnt fire a 3 round burst every time you pull the trigger.... there's some artificial bullsh...t delay after the each burst fires.

From the description you would think after each burst, you simply pull the trigger again and the next burst goes down range. This isnt what happens with the Disruptor. You fire off your first burst, as soon as it's out of the barrel, you pull the trigger again... and again, and again.... and again... nothing happens. It's pretty mind numbing. I'm not sure of the exact time on the delay, it may only be a second, but when you're taking rounds right and left it feels like an eternity.

What I dont understand, is the fact that all other 3 round burst weapons(SMG, AR) do MORE base damage than their fully automatic counterparts. The disruptor does drastically less damage than all other LMGs.

All in all the Disruptor fails in every aspect. Long delay between each burst, horrible accuracy, horrible bloom, piss poor dps.

Devs please give this weapon a little love.

guess you never had to be your own saw/hog ammo bearer have you? but just to chime in on the DS teaching what your count/mental count is mine said "Foot ball bat", an my squad sgt. loved the fact I could put a single, two, an tree...three count on my hog for live fires an take my targets out, he made me do it multiple times so other sgts could see...lol, I love an miss my weapons. but anywho, I think the rocker is worse than the disruptor. but thats my own honest opinion.

The main problem with VOT Disruptor is the refire delay between bursts.

If it has no refire delay between bursts it would've been a decent weapon, kinda like the EMC Burst Assault Rifle and the Heavy Assault Carbine with Burst Mag.

This weapon is pointless atm. In fact, most alien-style Assault rifles and LMGs are pretty shtako

Once you actually carry the M249 in a Line unit you'll understand the issue of extra ammo. I carried that weapon for about 5 years out of 7. I'm just glad that I didn't have to carry it when I had to put a M2 (receiver, barrel, tripod, T&E) in my ruck with a SINGARs, batteries, ammo, food, field load. It would take two troopers to help me get on my feet. However, any LMG that is burst fire is a POS in this game and real life. The fire delay between bursts makes it pretty much unusable or at least way less effective than a SAW.
