There is no point to have Preparedness equipped with two BMGs.
When you say "auto-reload", do you mean: Press R to start reload then immediately swap without waiting for the reload animation to complete?

Find two with the "Protector" property. They don't restore health or shields but it has a MUCH longer use time. When one is depleted, switch the to the other one. It should be recharged.

Tele-Spanners will have the longest channel time as well as range followed by Protectors then Spanners, the slowing one (for the life of me I can never remember the name of) and lastly the Stingray.

don't tell anyone I told you this but, if you just swap out of your BMG and back real quick you will get about 70% charge. A bit slower than having two BMG's equipped but then you have a different weapon for emergencies.

You can use the inifinte hellbug spot at

by saving the mercs, killing skitterlings until you get a group of 10 spawning outside of the hole in the wall bordering this area, and then killing all but 1 of those skitterlings and working your way over to the hole before killing the last (the group only respawns once all 10 have been killed). Once you kill the last the group will respawn in ~4 seconds giving you time to recharge and because they respawn as a bunch of 10 you train your gun much faster because you will be hitting multiple targets at once. It'd probably be 5 times faster than farming hulkers.

I used it to killfarm the 5k challenges but should be good for weapon training too if you have a blast/shotgun/spray and pray/semi-auto with a high fire rate type weapon you want to train.

I'm Era (Account name: Strifera) on PC-NA. Friend me if you'd like in game or on the forums.

I've been leveling my BMG's for a while now. What I have found out is Damage or Healing it doesn't matter as long as you get the beam to link up. Linking isn't mandatory but it helps.

Damage on one mob is horrible (even with 508 dmg listed with 2 mods) but when you can link to 3+ mobs it starts to make a difference. I suggest using the Shield BMG for this as the Heal is around 25.

Healing - Look for higher Link Range. You'll want to use this in Arkfalls when a bugs are out rampaging. The more healing ticks you see on more people the more exp you'll get to leveling the weapon/skill.

I got BMG to 20 by farming the San Quentin hulker. Be sure to kill yourself to let it reset before you kill it. If you want a less cheesy way, (although slower) I'd recommend farming Scrapworks/running around San Francisco looking for forge events. Forges are insanely effective for leveling weapon skill and take a long time to kill.

I put a level and a half on mine last night by the Forge method. The key is to get a telespanner (The one that doesn't side link and has longer link range) and aim for the eye and the tail when it's glowing. Once you land it, just let it run and move around a little to dodge things. With overcharge, gunslinger, etc you can actually see the level meter go up, LOL.

Hulker works too. Stay away from hellbugs larger then skitterlings (Or archers) - it takes too damn long and the damage is low.

Raider mobs and 99'er mobs are great with any BMG with a lot of linking capability. I have noticed that the base stream does one set of damage ticks, the next one in the chain seems to double, the third one in the chain does even more. So with those spanning weapons hit weak mobs (Solepnor Excavation, Liberate the Lost, Motherload.... all good co-ops to run.)

Oh! One more thing. If you have an extra perk slot... use Just rewards (Loot bonus for crit hits) it does seem to work with BMG's when you are ticking yellow.
