Watched the review. Wasn't surprised by anything there, other than that he was perhaps more on the kinder side than normal. I suspect that has something to do with his respect for Trion, which he's openly given props to.

I actually laughed at Angry Joe's review - why? Because nearly all of it was true. I think that type of humor is the best.
The game is completely average. Like in nearly every single aspect. I'm glad I only paid 20 bucks for it (thanks to gift cards) - and I'll log in to play episodic missions and maybe continue on the main story line quest but as Joe points out: why bother if nearly every single one of them follows the exact - same - unchanging - format - time - and - time - and - time again?
Where is the effort, TRION? I guess they did just run out of time. Ah well.
Hopefully the game picks up in the next year or so - I'll continue to update the client and hop in every now and then when I'm taking a break from other games.
People are pissed in this thread because Joe's absolutely right. And they know it hehe.
I doubt that is it. The guy gives GW2 a perfect review, yet he reviewed it months after it released. Nor has he every reviewed a game like this that is on PC, PS3,and Xbox, so I doubt he realizes the amount of coding and dev time put into things. And all of his complaints are things that have been fixed or are going to be fixed with the patch on the 15th, and the on 2 weeks after that.
The fact that he made a review on this, without playing through the game, and also playing on a really crappy PC (his resolution is horrible), doesn't help. For a guy who gets paid from youtube hits and subscribers as a "reputable" game reviewer.... he really has no idea what he's talking about.
Reviews are supposed to be unbiased when you go into them, and you should play them with an open mind. Things he did neither of.
If he wanted to find things out about the game, he could look for them - yet he was banking on being spoon fed content and details.
The funny part of all this is, all the people I see defending him are those who joined in April and have 1 post (for the most part). All the others complaining and hating are those that did so in the beta weekends and such. Trion needs to lock down the forum registration to those only having a CD Key on their account.
The problem with the Angry Joe review is he comes across as seemingly to of not actually having played the game.
He complains that the game is rushed, yet the game was being worked on as far back as August 2008. This tells me that Joe didn't even spend 5 mins to do any fact checking on such a simple statement, he just "assumed" the game is rushed but doesn't elaborate as to why.
He says there is no story to the game. This tells me that *if* he did play, he didn't bother with any side missions (which elaborate on the story).
I found his review of Mass Effect 3 to be dead on, but here it's like he already hated the game so just made a review to try and convince everyone else to hate the game too. So far, I'm enjoying the game it's a nice change of pace from the "sword n board" type mmos that are out now.
GW2 gives me free content, every month....and all I have paid is 60 bucks yet I have a ton of CS items which really is not needed. If there is any game I could name that champions value for money spent, GW2 is top of my list.
I have spent 200 bucks now in defiance and it took me two days to do all the missions. 75 bucks in bits will last me a week for boosts once freebies end, lol? Anyways....all there is left is grind...and grind...and grind...sigh. Back to the grind.
Angry is right about almost everything imo.
Now it's up to Trion to show us if they care or not.
