Don't think he gets anything about the game period, his reviews are a joke, their more for entertainment than information. If i had to review and rate him he would be very low on the scale. When i watched his review this is all i could think about, that's how i saw him in his video. I have played many MMO and fps games at launch and a lot of them didn't go smooth at all, yet none of them put as much effort into getting the issues resolved as ive seen in this game. People now days just expect way to much and everything has to be perfect, and if its not they take to the internet to whine and cry about it like he did in his review.

1.) Lack of any communication removes the MMO element of the MMOTPS in my opinion.

2.) Side missions as well as SOME NOT ALL Main missions are a bit too repetitive for my taste.

3.) Story doesn't really interest me in the world of the game too much.

4.) EGO's voice gets annoying for me anyway.

5.) Lack of any interesting characters.

6.) The player character is silent. There was a time when silent protagonists were fine but since Bioshock Infinite I now have a distaste for silent protagonists.

Today I watched Angry Joe's review of the game and like he said there is a lot of content in the game but it's a matter of do you enjoy doing things like doing half of it. For me most of it is repetitive like the race courses or the side missions. This is just my opinion of the game and after watching AJ's review and having played a good bit of the game myself I would give it a 6/10 right now but after 3-4 weeks I'd probably bump it up to a 7 or 8/10.

These are just my opinions. I can respect anyone else's opinions on this but if you are just going to flame me saying "Oh you watched Angry Joe's review, you're stupid!!" then I will say this. I have always watched/read reviews of the game after I have played a good amount of the game myself so don't think I'm a sheep. I'm just seeing what others' experiences of the game were like and compare them to my own experiences.

He didn't really spend much time on release issues though, did he? I watched all 29 mins of the review - I may have missed it but maybe he mentioned there were issues... dunno. 2 mins tops.

    But really:

The UI is terrible for PC players

    The story is lol

The voice over: Joe was BANG ON - (like honestly was the sheriff a white guy? I had to LOL at that part too)

    The graphics are ok

The vehicles are annoying in a lot of spots - seem very clunky and movement is kind of weird sometimes - but it's acceptable

1st person shooter aspects: fairly responsive - but nothing game changing. This is normal stuff we've all seen since Half Life. Completely acceptable - average

The music - omg I laughed my *** off when Joe showed Eddie Murphy with the 80s Defiant "in intense combat" music... LOL... but only because of how true it was. It's hilariously bang on.

You tell me - in his review which part was he wrong about? This game is terribly terribly average with miles of room for improvements.

Thank you! I'm glad to see someone else actually watched the full review as he says himself something along the lines of "After the TV show is aired and we see tie-ins and the bug fixes/issues are resolved then I will probably give this a 7 or 8/10". That is 1 thing people seem to have missed out.

Also I also laughed my *** off at the "intense combat music" as it was so true.

At any rate. It's pretty obvious you are one the the more hardened of fan boys - and I'm not calling you down for it: that is cool - honestly. I'm very glad you enjoy this game.

I'm sorry if you find it offensive that I think that the game is highly average. Disappointingly average, actually.

For the record: I had absolutely no premeditated thoughts on the game. I literally picked this up from the shelf. I wasn't even aware of the TV show. It so happens my wife is PVRing it - I didn't even see any of the show's trailers. I didn't even watch any youtube vids. I walked in to Future Shop with some gift cards - saw "TRION" - saw "1st person shooter" - saw "MMO" - and picked it up.

From someone with absolutely zero investment in this game: it is unbelievably average. I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings with that either. Not flaming. Not hatin'. I'm being completely honest in that assessment from a vantage of absolutely zero investment.

Now that I'm in 20 on it though, I'll happily update the client - log in when I have a hankering for some sniping... and happily play the average game.... I know as it is a TRION product that this will eventually become an above average product. I know this already.

But I'm sorry again if that offends you so much bud. Take it easy - go shoot up some baddies!
LOL! I don't know whether to laugh are you calling me a fanboy or not, but it certainly does make me chuckle.

Dunno how you though it was a FPS (first person shooter) seeing as its a TPS (third person shooter), so where ever you bought it from was misinformed or made a clerical error. Don't get me wrong, the game has its issues. Though being a seasoned veteran of MMO's and Online games (been playing them since the late 90's), even MUDs (which most of you will have no clue what I'm talking about)... I've gotten used to these little hick ups in production.

The game is barely a week old (almost 2 now), yet everyone wants to point out ever single flaw that was in the build at launch. This just means most have no idea how game production works. Once a client goes gold, that in turn becomes your release candidate. Which of course means, if there were flaws that were being addressed internally or externally via public testers, they get fixed after release.

And almost all the things people have been QQ'ing about have been fixed. Not to mention that many of them are very minor and can be worked around. Got looping combat music? Go to setting and turn off combat music.

It is common sense thing like this that people will define their review on, but they won't tell you that it has a simple fix / work around so that you can keep playing and not have your ears blown out.

On the plus side, for all those who are raging over things.... guess what? There is no sub. So go ahead and play something else, and come back when you feel things are fixed, or just peek your head in from time to time. It's not like your character is gonna go anywhere.

All things aside - I still don't see how people can judge something this early after a launch when many of the kinks are being ironed out. It's like reading 3 pages of a book and saying it sucks, when if you kept reading... it got better.

Because that is how all MMOS are reviewed. Defiance is no exception here.

However, as the story sits now, it's completely forgettable
Most of these are single player on a single platform, meaning bigger budget to put eye candy and what not in.
