And like most places that review, the company that gives that place the biggest sum of cash gets the best ratings. Hell, its the same way with movie and book reviews too lol

It's hard to take a person serious when he says the F word every other word. I'm pretty sure if he did that in public he'd get his *** kicked. And yes, I know it's his character, but it is a terrible character at that.

I know we will get here soon enough.... if a reviewer gives low ratings to my favorite game they were not paid by the company and if the same reviewers give high score to my favorite game then all is forgiven and suddenly they are very professional and full of integrity.

Angry Joe is an independent critic. He makes money through youtube and does not need any pay offs by company to give glowing reviews.

When fanboys were foaming at mouth and called IGN a 'sell out' i thought well maybe they are given history of IGN. But now this is getting absurd where people like Angry Joe are also being lumped in same category.

The problem with the Angry Joe review is he comes across as seemingly to of not actually having played the game.

He complains that the game is rushed, yet the game was being worked on as far back as August 2008. This tells me that Joe didn't even spend 5 mins to do any fact checking on such a simple statement, he just "assumed" the game is rushed but doesn't elaborate as to why.

I think you're misinterpreting his statement. When he says rushed, he means it could have used another year of development time in the oven (many people feel this way about Defiance, actually). But points out that wasn't possible due to it being linked to the TV show. Thus (in his opinion) it was rushed out before it was ready.

The fact that this game was in development for 5 years is not a bragging point when look at the progress made in that time, by the way. WoW, GW2.. these were all games with similar development cycles.. I'm not sure where Defiance spent its time, but more of it should have been on fleshing out and polishing the game.

He says there is no story to the game. This tells me that *if* he did play, he didn't bother with any side missions (which elaborate on the story).

He talked about the side missions. Are you sure you watched the whole review?

I'm still enjoying it though. Probably because I'm a glutton for punishment. Kind of like at the end how he stated that you have to force yourself to like it, because you do.

I loved my time with the beta, and I'm loving the full game. I don't understand the low reviews at all, but I lost faith in reviews about 15 years ago. 7 is about the lowest I'd go, given the fun I'm having.

Lets be honest, anyone who reviewed GW2 at launch gave it a terrible review and rating. Those that waited longer to review, gave it a different rating and had a more positive tone to the review.

No it is asnine to lump all reviewers and critics in same category. Angry Joe is not some big house critic. He plays whatever game he likes and when he likes. Maybe he had more interest in Defiance than Guild Wars2? not everyone was rushing to GW2 by the way.

The problem here is that no matter who the reviewer is as long as he gives negative score to Defiance you guys will just never accept it. I can bet my left nut that the moment a positive review comes out you won't stop gushing and praising the reviewer.

And i know this because you are not the first hypocrite i have come across.

As long as you guys kept your 'sell out' logic limited to sites like IGN you still had some credibility but now it is not just IGN but every critic no matter what the background. Like is aid this is just absurd.

Horrible how? I'd say it's a very typical story, but not horrible by any means. I like the mini-stories in the co-op instances better than the main storyline, but then again the main storyline is really just the beginning.
