It wasn't a negative score. It was smack dab in the middle. 4 or below, yeah that's negative But 5 is literally in the middle.

edit: And Tabula Rasa was in development since 2001 and it was still rushed. Th point no one seems to be getting and what reviewers are saying is that the important parts: combat and progression, are sound. This is a foundation to grow on.

Read my post on page 9 or 10, this story is beyond forgettable

And this is why I could never review a game. I find all games fun, all movies good, and all activities worth it. I wish I was angry.

Everything he talks about I did not even notice but yeah he did do a good review and I expected that rating from the start but defiance has just started up so there will be more reviews as the game goes on, and I predict 9s.

The problem here is that no matter who the reviewer is as long as he gives negative score to Defiance you guys will just never accept it. I can bet my left nut that the moment a positive review comes out you won't stop gushing and praising the reviewer.

And i know this because you are not the first hypocrite i have come across.

As long as you guys kept your 'sell out' logic limited to sites like IGN you still had some credibility but now it is not just IGN but every critic no matter what the background. Like is aid this is just absurd.
Seeing as you are quoting ME, don't lump everyone else in with that. You also took what I said out of context about the reviews. Please notice I said GAME SITES. I don't know how you figure Youtube and one person on there is a game site.... but sure, go ahead and roll with that.

Also - is this a binding verbal agreement to betting your left nut?

You keep grouping everyone else in when you problem is obviously with me. If you'd like, you can hash that out in private messages then. Other wise, please feel free to continue ranting and looking like a fool.

Yeah, I can't rely nor respect reviews that tilt towards entertainment by focusing on and/or exaggerating points to make it fit the style or theme. Granted, they can be amusing to watch, but that's just it then, it's amusement, not a true review.

I should note that some if not all of his points are valid - at the same time, I would also point out that it's only been a little over a week. A proper review of a game of this size needs more time, especially when you factor in the time it takes to analyze and assemble the presentation of the information.

In short, these types of reviews can be fun to watch (like other reviewers with the same "theme"), but I wouldn't base my purchases on them.

this was a good review, of the game, you can go ahead and skip the first part where he reviews a tv show that hasn't actually aired yet...

the critique to the game i totally agree with, the game lacks content, and by that i don't mean more quests or even bigger maps...i would like something to do that is actually worth doing, more dynamic events that link to eachother and lead to a bigger griup event, or hidden stuff around the world like caves and stuff like that, but i actually hqve a feelink thqt stuff like that will come with the launch of the tv show, after all 14 minutes in to the show and we already saw different enemies like the sort of votan raiders and also the spiderbat creature...plus the flying ones over defiance...

I agree, and I think this whole project is going to flop hard.

The TV show looks ****ing awful, everything clashes and the writing and characters remind me of a teenagers tumblr.

And how are people outside America going to watch it anyway?

He basically said the same thing most others are saying about the game: Good and solid game play but nothing but boring and shallow things to do with said game play.

Same message that's been repeated over and over since Alpha. Nothing new here.

I have to agree with 99% of what Joe said, the only thing I would disagree with is his score of 5/10. I think it deserves a 7, or at least a 6 in it's current state.

Most of the content is boring, simple as, we need more content and we need better content. Also, the game just does not feel like an MMO. However, I would argue that the core gameplay mechanics do push Defiance to a 6 or 7.

The annoying part is that this game could easily push an 8 or a 9 if the content was better.

Ah well. Too little too late? Only time will tell.

Also I just want to add: Joe does a great job as a reviewer in my opinion, been following him for a while and he always gives an unbiased honest opinion.
