Purchasing bits.

Is there a difference in lock boxes when you spend bits on them instead of using your resources? What I mean is, I've purchased at least 20-30 tier 2, 3 and about 4-5 tier 4's, and I've only managed to get 1 legendary item for all of that. It was a pistol that I didn't use at the time anyway.

I remember in Alpha, when they gave us 4000 bits to mess around with in the store. I burned all of them on tier 4 boxes and it seemed damn near every one of them contained a legendary.

My fear is that I drop $50 bucks with hopes of getting some nice legendaries, but only end up getting crap like I've been getting when using my resources. That would kinda piss me off. Anyone else having better luck than I am with this?

And also, do legendaries even drop in the world? I'm yet to see one ever. I played about 1 month of the Alpha as well, and didn't see any there.

No difference, just RNG.

While I don't play alot, I have had no legendary weapons for lock boxes, and only 1 purple from the 5 tier 4 lock boxes, 2 tier 3 lock boxes. Most were greens and blue wepons that were next to useless.

I got at least 1 purple from 3 tier 4's I tried with bits (one had 2) and I've opened up 2 with resources with more or less the same results. It's really up to you, tier 4 is a lot of keys though, not sure if anyone really opens them anymore when tier 3 is half the price.
