    USA Server... Still down.

Will it be up and running before the show premiere on Monday? I bought the game two days ago and still keep getting connect to server timed out. I have Comcast DSL...(Supporter of Defiance.) Please do something like make a patch so when the servers are down we can still play the game. It's kinda dumb to make a game that has to connect in order for you to enjoy it. I fell bad for kids that may not have net access and find out they have to return the game cause they can't play it. Yes, not everyone has internet.

    Well, back to playing Farcry3.

    huh lol ?
It's a MMO, Massively Multiplayer Online game. It plays only online, it's not a DRM check. And it's rated 18+ so no kids allowed
And btw, the servers are up, you just have a connexion issue.

Have a search on the forums there is a known issue with the Comcast guardian (I think it is called that). I think you have to disable this service if you have it.

Hopefully these "kids" you are referring to are educated enough to know that it's an MMO and like all MMO's it requires an Internet connection to play.

    Use a VPN

This happens to me, so I have to use a VPN to get around it. I don't know exactly how it works, but it does. Get a VPN like OpenVPN or pay for one like VyprVPN and use that. You'll be able to play when using one.

Works fine for me...and the only way "kids" will be playing it will be from bad parenting. Try resetting and contact Comcast.

Well it's not a "connection"(use a spell checker for christ's sake.) issue. Not a kid. Did know MMO required only online connectivity. I was expecting some single player story that didn't need to be connected. But this is the only game I have that says connection timed out. Every other game i have has no problem connecting for multiplayer. Just Defiance. Oh and yes, there are a lot of bad parents out there. Many just buy the game to keep kids occupied so they don't have to be bothered with them. Come on, like none of you every played games meant for older players? Let's see... Doom, Resident Evil, Duke Nukem, etc.. Even as a kid I preferred the ones for older ages. When it comes to games most all prefer death and destruction, as well as immersing ones self into new digital worlds to explore and be amazed by the artwork of game makers.

Oh, Envokation it sounds to me you are describing computer playing. My issue is PS3. Unless I accidentally posted this under the PC forum. Then I apologize for posting in the wrong section.

I would just like to chance to check this 60 dollar game before the show airs Monday night before the next chapters hit the game. I like the idea of a game tied into a tv series. I'm looking forward to be involved with it, just tired of day after day not being able to start cause the server is down.

Btw, Fall of Cybertron was considered an MMO by Full Moon studio and X-Play(sadly missed.) I just hope Defiance doesn't have a bunch of morons going around shooting people for kicks for no reason and not trying to enjoy the game or story. And a majority of the time the ones doing it are... surprise, kids. Or possibly "ignorant" players period. Much like haters and bashers.

Last night, I kept on getting the "your connection to the server timed out" message. I've been playing this game since launch & I've never encountered this problem before.

I'm playing the PS3 version. I'm in the Eastern time zone in the USA. My ISP is Time Warner Cable.

Interesting. I just tried again and still connection timed out, and I have the 2nd highest DSL connection Comcast offers. Been 4 days now. What state are you in if you don't mind my asking. I'm in Pennsylvania. Maybe I should ask Comcast why the support of a game supports it, but the DSL connection keeps timing out on it. I know Sony is supposed to do server upgrades. wonder if they only update state by state. Just chatted with a friend playing Defiance in Ireland and he said he hasn't had a problem since start date either... Thinking about waiting till Thursday and if I still can't get on I may just take it back and switch it for the new Tomb raider or GOW. Not sure yet.
