How long until we get to enjoy this game + community w/o all the complaints

I keep coming to the forum trying to enhance my experience with the game. Just like I do with any game that I play. It seems that there is a good base community living beneath the pile of garbage that is, whiners + complainers. Right now my post count is low, but I do browse. Hopefully, the experience will change once all the impossible to please ***holes move on to something else

I have not really played an MMO before, so I guess I am just wondering how long it generally takes to get past all of the sludge

    1. Welcome to mmo gaming forums.

    2. Complaints never cease (see 1).

    3. Complaints are, even though you seemingly do not feel so, able to have an affect on improving the game. I can cite the initial plans in the upcoming patch to make area chat on by default. Many complaints went out and they've changed it to being off by default. (see 1).

    4. You're complaining about people complaining(ie a typical hypocritical occurence on mmo forums(see 1).

New mmo. Without complaints, nothing gets fixed.

If people want to complain about this game on the forums well.....dude that's what game forums are all about. I've never been on the forums of a game where most of the people who post aren't just raging. But hey, maybe I don't agree with them and there's certainly some who rage about the stupidest crap but that doesn't take away anything from me or my enjoyment of the game. And sometimes a whiner will point out something that I either didn't know or overlooked and oh no! Now I'm on the complain train too. And also, if people don't complain about stuff, especially bugs how will things ever change for the better?

*EDIT* the 3 posts above beat me while I was typing this and they explain it much better.

Best complaint I was ever part of was when WoW first launched. Played a troll warrior, enjoyed it to a point until I got higher level. I was apparently not the only one who was unhappy so we all met on the forums. We decided that if blizzard wasn't going to listen to us, that we would make them listen. Thus formed the "Naked Booty-Bay Gnome Brigade" It only took about twenty minutes until the massive gnome madness caused the server to crash and Blizzard got the point. The warriors were addressed in the very next patch with a warning label. "Warriors did it, don't redo it or suffer punishment."

Long story short. People will always complain when unhappy, just enjoy yourself if you do and don't listen to the problems of others ^.^. Where there is someone having fun, there is always someone being miserable. Yin-Yang basically.

"Decisions are left to those that are willing to be lost in thought."

Never. Take a quick peek at WoW's forums, especially the class (or even better, Mage!) forums. That game's been out for eight, nine years now and part of the community still considers it their job to complain about everything.

That being said, there would be fewer people complaining if there was more to do in-game that was relevant to their specific interests. Case in point: the only reason I'm writing this is because I finished the main story a week ago yesterday and quickly discovered that aside from that, there's nothing pertinent to what I like to do in games to make the money I spent on Defiance worth it.

And so, I come to the forums, because what I'm doing in game bores me, and consider that to be unacceptable in a week-old game that touts itself as an MMO.

I realize that there's more content on the way as early as the 16th. I realize that there's pvp objectives that I haven't tried yet. I. Don't. Care. I play games to see their stories. I do not play games to get headshot and teabagged by some random jerk on the internet. Maybe one day I'll feel masochistic enough to que up for a match, but today is not that day. So here I am. Bored, expressing myself on the forums, just like you.

Back on topic, and to expound my initial point a bit more, the majority of the complainers will go away when either A) Trion responds to their concerns, B) More content is added to the game... although once they finish that, some of them will come back, while the others C) Give up and leave for greener pastures. Creating topics like this gives them something to focus on, so in a way you're adding to what you percieve as a problem.

    LOL. Got me!

I guess to me, it just seems like the complaints/suggestions should actually be in the section that is entitled "Suggestions"

This forum seems very clogged with nothing else
